concerned for my bf

hello po...good day.. i am new po dito sa site and i think this forum will be helpful po talaga sa pinagdadaanan namin ng bf ko...
my bf po is positive for Hepa B and was diagnosed almost 4 years ago, by accident po when he applied for PNP.. (as we all know, part of their medical screening)... (hindi po po kami that time)

he is in constant monitoring with his gastroenterologist, every 3 months po...minu.monitor po lage ang quantitative HbsAg niya, including ang HbeAg (currently, negative na po siya)... yung HBV DNA niya po is also monitored pero once pa lang po siya nakunan kasi medyo expensive din po..

right now, he is still positive for the surface antigen..my concern po is medyo increasing po siya..6 months ago mga 2thousand plus po siya, then just this August naging 4thousand plus po...he was advised to have HBV dna pero hindi pa siya nakabalik sa doctor niya kasi wala pa pong money for the test...

if i remember correctly, the result is high... i need po clarifications on certain things po...

1. is there any chance po that my bf could be negative for surface antigen?? (since that is his only chance po to find a job.. )

2. is there any way po for the PMA to help patients diagnosed with hepa B not to be discriminated, especially on job applications and opportunities?? like PNP po, kasi i feel hindi naman po needed ang HbsAg exam just to be recruited po... my bf really wanted to join the PNP..it is his ultimate dream... and he is denied because of his condition...when in fact wala namn po siyang signs and symptoms po...

3. i have completed my 3 doses vaccine against hep B when i was in college..year 2007... do i need to have additional hepa B vaccine for me to be protected?

i am really hoping for a response with regards to my queries and concerns..thank you so much for the time...

i may add po, my bf is currently taking baraclude as his maintenance antiviral drug and godex for his liver as prescribed po by his gastroenterologist...
thank you po...

1. possible but the chances are very slim.

2. your BF should find another job because in our country HBV carriers are widely MISunderstood and discriminated.

3. Once the 3 doses of vaccine is completed you SHOULD be protected against HBV for at least 2 decades.

1. SInce your bf is being treated with Baraclude (Entacavir), I believe he is a chronic carrier, chances for him to seroconvert with Baraclude or any other existing treatment are low but there are new treatment coming, see stef2011 posts, hopefully.

2. Unfortunately, many companies show discrimination because they are ignorant of HBV transmissions means, they prefer to take no risk. I can't help much on this one as I don't know the companies you are talking about.

3. Since you have completed your vaccines 3 doses, your blood test 1 month after the third dose should show that you developed HBsAB antibodies, make sure it is the case (As some people don't develop Ab) and after that you are fine to have a normal life.
