hbv dna reduction without medicines

Hi, I am confused with my case, can you please give suggestions, some doctors (one in the Netherlands, 2 in Vietnam) told me to not take treatment, other doctors (2 in Vietnam) said that I need treatment. So I am very confused.

I have got chronic hbv since born. But I discovered it since 2004, then doctor gave me some medicines for 6 months. After that I didnt take any care until now I am 28 now.
My progress lately from doctors are like:

August 2004: HBV-DNA < 5 copies. HBSAg 789.59 ng/ml. HBeAg negative. AntiHBe negative.

April 2004 (after 6 months medicines): HBV DNA < 5 copies. HBs Ag 811.7 ng/ml. Anti HBe positive.

February 2013: ALAT 38. (checked when I felt tired and lack of energy)

September 2013: HBV DNA 12300 copies/ml. GOT/AST 21. GPT/ALT 21. GGT 19. HBe Ag is negative. Anti-HBe is positive. Ultrasound check is ok.

December 2013: ASAT 23. ALAT 39. (checked when I felt tired after a long travelling and lack of energy for months). Vitamin D-25 level was 29 nmol/L. Doctor concluded that I need no treatment and need Vitamin D + calcium supplement, he gave me a bottle for 3 months use.

March 2014: HBV DNA 5620 copies/ml. HBsAg 4363.47 ng/ml. HBeAg negative. Anti-HBe positive. GOT 23. GPT 22. GGT 18. Ultrasound check is ok. HBV Genotype result is not ready yet but soon. The doctor (he is head of the department) said: It is important to use Baraclude now before I have plan to get married because we want to avoid any damage to the liver silently.

They all said the reduction in HBV DNA like mine even without treatment is normal.

So, anybody can give me some of your opinions on this, I would appreciate very much. My plan is to take the suggested treatment...

thank you all.
best for all of you.

he did not know what it is...

it is used by the virus to suppress our immune system response towards hbv, it is made by the virus dna integrated in our dna and by cccdna inside infected cells.it is even made by our own dna where virus dna is integrated...

anyway all this is not important, just test hbsag by the correct machines, dont know if conversion is accurate and if low use peginterferon to clear the virus, avoid doctor not updated because they cannot cure hbv but just sell drugs in cases where virus is replicating

browse the community to understand how to cure hbv, many members cleared or are close to clear, those are hte best posts to look at

Hi Stef, thank you for giving me some information.
I found the exchange rate from ng/ml to IU/ml of 5.6. But I am not sure if its correct one to use for calculation.

Please you or anyone can tell me abit more from what you understand the HBsAg and its role in the infection inside the cells? I asked one doctor what is the different of HBsAg from HBV DNA, he said HBsAg is like a leg or arm of the virus, he said it is not important. I still dont get it, he was too busy to explain. And do you know yet why we cannot control them, even when we know what it is? Many thanks.

hbvdna goes up and down and undetectable naturally and it has no meaning to hbv infection.hbv infection is inside liver cells and not in the blood, hbvdna is just a test to see if antivirals have an effect but both hbvdna or antivirals have no effect on hbv infection

it is hbsag quantity that reflects infection inside liver cells and your immune response, not hbvdna.the test you have used ofr hbsag quantity is useless and unknown, ng/ml is not a unit for hbsag quantification.the unit is iu/ml and the machines for hbsag quantitfication are abbott architect and roches elecsys, old kits for architect require manual diluition to get the number of hbsag when higher than 250iu/ml (which is all carriers)

your vit d is deficinet as all hbv carriers, you need to take d3 supplements to make it at least 35-40ng/ml
