hep b

Im having a sexual relationship w a guy who has chronic hep b. When i learned about it i did my hbsag test and turned out to be negative.. is it possible that i didnt get d virus yet?

That would be my opinion. Please note, the vaccination is a series of 3 injections over a 6 month period. To avoid the shots, you may like to test whether you already have HBsAb from a resolved previous infection as Stef2011 suggested.

Hepatitis B is an infectious disease and is sexually transmissible. Even though 95% of adults can recover naturally from an infection, why put yourself at risk when there is a very effective vaccine?

How infectious a person with HBV is depends on his viral load (hbvdna).

Btw, here is his lab result done yesterday
HBsAg. - reactive
Anti- HBs - non-reactive
HBeAg.  - nonreactive
Anti-HBe - reactive
Anti-HBc IgG. - reactive
Can u tell if he is infectious or not?  Tnx and it will be a great help if you could help us know his condition ty

and if you get it you clear it, hbv is benigne in adults, it can only infect and become chronic at birth

you have to test antibodies hbcab and hbsag to see if you are immune and cleared alredy not just hbsag
