hepatitis B

hi ..
i have had another LFT  along wiht HBV DNA ... my present reading is as follows:
SGOT AST: 24
SGPT ALT: 44
Billirubin: 2.33

HBV DNA: 854 iuml ( in march it was 3050)..
i want to know how did the DNA decrease although i did not take any anti virals ?
and why is the billirubin high ??

hmm ... yeah i found a hospital that does fibroscan ... will keep you posted on that ...will have hbsag test once again . thanks stef, Yasin

ı also have hıgh bılırubıne levels sınce ı can remember.

check for the gılberts syndrome. ıt ıs a harmless syndrome,

i am in north india in chandigarh, we dont have many places here that have firbroscan. can u tell  me if their is any hospital from where we can get this done ?

it decreased because it is normal on cronic hbv, it goes up and down.it is a useless test to monitor infection because the infection is not correlated with hbvdna but mainly with hbsag, you should have checked both hbsag in iu/ml and hbvdna and if both decreased (hbsag less than 1500iu/ml) it means immmune control and clearance of infected cells

hbvdna alone might mean only less liver damage

high bilirubuin is damaged liver, often severely because it is normal even on cirrhosis, so check by fibroscan as soon as possible
there may be other diseases to rise bilirubin but these are not common
