my aunt

my aunt is 34 & has hepatitis b, which has caused others problems such as liver cirrohsi, thyroid problems, to may more to name. she told me that hep b is a form where it candevelop on its own in your body, because she started having medical problems when she was an teen... they could not find the cause in till she was 33. About 1 year ago she was given a year to live. How did she get this,,, did her body just go into attack on its self... or was it from sex.(she says she still is a virgin, which i believe, because she has had a female romate for YEARS & never a boyfriend)

Hep B is HIGHLY contagious when in the early "acute" stages. MUCH more so than Hep C. It is not just a bloodborne virus at that stage. She could have caught that from anywhere. It is very possible to get it from just casual contact at that point.
Most folks fight it off on their own. Unfortunately, some don't.
There ARE treatments available now that can help her. If she is just waiting to die based on info that she got 10-15 years ago, she needs to get back into a good Hep doc and see what is now availiable.
You are to be commended for caring enough to try to research this for her.
If you have more questions...just ask.
I have some more Hep B info if you really want to see it. It does get pretty deep into the med-speak though.

In everything I read on hep b as well as hep c, it is an acquired virus, introduced into the body from exposure to infected blood or blood products, mainly. I have not read of the hepatitis virus just being part of our natural assortment of organisms living within us and then attacking the body. Perhaps you could  do your own research on the web, and discuss your findings with your aunt so that both she and you are clear about her illness. GL to you
