pegasys completion of year treatment

hbsag +
anti hbs neg
hbeag neg
anti hbe +
alt and ast normal since 2005
hbv dna less than 116 copies / ml ( undetectable ) 2012

HBsAg quantitaive from 19 IU/ml to 13.4 IU/ml then 16 IU/ml and then 20.23 IU over last 18 months

Started with
-PEG interferon 180 mcg once weekly
-Vit D

after 5 inj and ALT 103 which had always been previously normal
After 11 inj ALT 70 and HBsAg 18 IU/ml
After 23 inj peg Alt is 42 and HBsAg is 0.21 IU/ml  quantitative
09 months on pegasys ALt 42 , HBsAg 0.05 IU/ml, AntiHBs 5.6

10 months on PEGasys....HBsAg quantitative 0.03 IU/ml as compared to previous 0.05
Anti HBs 6.22

Now just two injections left .... what tests to do at end of one year of treatment

Hmm but hbsag wud go down only if alt is high. My biggest mistake was combining tdf with peg at low dna which hampered alt flare. Combo should b done only in those with high dna. Initially i had raised alt before therapy 98 but I lowered it to 30 using tdf 3 months then added peg. Currently alt is normalised 42 even alp is down 75 which was never less than 100.
If I had started peg mono at alt 98 i wud have got similar response like sorte with high alt of 245. Money is a big loss on such uncertain therapy. Will check hbsag next week.

unfortunately only hbsag confimrs how peg is responding, not alt and not hbvdna, but we have to see the 24 weeks results after that we can say response/no response

Now today have given sample for vit d levels and anti hbs levels
will get results tomorrow night
Lets see if i get any increase in antibodies

Your above post shows two results . Was your Hbsag Quantification 0.03 IU/ML  or  it was  0.3 IU/ml..

Congratualtions and keep it up your are getting better day by day

the cut off value is 0.05
and my value was 0.03 IU/ml
The report says
HBsAg (Quantitative) IU/ml 0.3
HBsAg Quantitative Test is a reliable method for the detection of HBsAg. At Chughtais Lahore Lab this test is performed on the fully automated and integrated Abbot Architect Ci820 system utilizing Chemiluminescnt technology. The assay has sensitivity of<0.5 IU/ml. The numerical value of the patient’s result represents viral load and can be used to monitor therapy for hepatitis B.

the numbers get to 0, it is like for the antibody hbsab, cut off and numbers are 2 different things

cut off value for hbsag test is 0.05 iu/ml what is cut off value in your lab if they gave you result of 0,03 iu?

its hard to make antibodies

this time checked the hep b with elisa as in mid east for job they check it with elisa and it was negative

but this fight with antibodies ends with complete seroconversion with formation of antibodies

just checked the references
yea ... its a new world about vit D

doctors not advising such high doses but monitoring them ... interesting

no my choice after i saw all the studies on the subject and improving results...... they monitor.anyway those doses are needed to make parathormone normal levels, with less than 100ng/ml my pth goes over 106pg/ml (norm 8-51pg/ml or some labs 10-65pg/ml)

the danger with vitd25oh>100ng/ml or 150ng/ml are:
of not making the strict low calcium diet, not drinking 2.5l of water or not making all those tests is kidneys damage, so this is very safe as long as everything is followed carefully by ourselves or by expert careful doctors

even if doctors say it is ok to test every 4 months once kinetics are fixed i myself prefer to test monthly or every 2 months max

once again vitamin D toxicity is a hoax and it is observed on few clinical cases with vitd25oh over 350ng/ml and dairies consumption

i would say dairies are toxic and not perfectly compatible with humans with proper vit d levels

vitamin d council: >150ng/ml says potentially toxic, unknown if toxic and wrong words, it may increase calcium are the correct words
http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/am-i-getting-too-much-vitamin-d/

there are no serious clinical studies, just few reports on millions of iu, here the study links:
http://www.vitamindwiki.com/Vitamin+D+toxicity+after+4+months+of+weekly+600,000+IU++%E2%80%93+2012

http://www.vitamindwiki.com/Overview+Toxicity+of+vitamin+D

http://www.vitamindwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Loading%20Dose%20of%20Vitamin%20D&redirectpage=

i myself take 100.000iu daily from june 2013 to jan 2014 then lowered to 15.000iu daily and had a worsening on results so went back to 100.000iu daily in june 2014 till today.the response is individual and to do what i do you need expert doctor monitoring or researchers, but to ake levels 150ng/ml is very safe on the diet

this said to go over 100ng/ml you have to follow carefully wht i wrote and possibly have an expert doctor monitor

no thats all bull... from drug makers to scare away from vit d, first of all no toxicity exsists from vitamin d 25 oh, there is only calcium increase if you eat calcium

so simple, if you avoid high calcium foods like all dairies there is no calcium to absorb and even 4000ng/ml are free of any side.my vitd25oh is 995ng/ml

even more research centers and good hospitals increased normal vitd25oh from 30 to 150ng/ml and there is no study on calcium increase, only few poorly reported clinical cases

so what to do:
increase vitd25oh to a max of 150ng/ml
do not consume any dairy product, be careful on this
drink 2.5L of water daily

check monthly at first:
serum calcium
ionized calcium
calcium in urine
creatinine
intact parathormone

you will see that calcium with decrease with increase of vitd25oh (if on the no dairy diet) and calcium will never increase if parathormone satys higher than 0pg/ml.making this 0pg/ml on people with chronic infections or inflammatories disease is extremely difficult, i still have pth 49pg/ml with vitd25oh 995ng/ml, my sister same thing with pth 50pg/ml.
we actually get pth above range if we don t keep vitd25oh over 100ng/ml, high pth makes immune suppression and bone loss
