There are now very clear guidelines on how to stop vertical transmission. You should consult your doctors for the details. Basically, they are:
1. The baby should receive HBIG & the first dose of Hepatitis B vaccine within 12 hours of birth. The baby should of course complete the series of vaccination at the scheduled dates. This will prevent almost all vertical transmissions.
2. However, in mother who are HBeAg+ve with a very high viral load (hbvdna > 7 log 10 iu/ml), treatment with antiviral at the third trimester to reduce viral load would further reduce vertical transmission.

First get all of your labs done. ALT, HBVDNA, E Antigen status, and etc.

Then read about the shot schedule for,the baby. If you don't have a very high viral load and give the baby shots you will have a very high chance of preventing transmission.
