side effects of hepatitis b vaccine.

I recently received the first Hepatitis B vaccine in a series of three.  Two hours after my shot I could not move my neck.  Two days later still having neck pain and the pain was in my shoulders.  4 days after that the pain had moved to yet another spot in my lower back.  3 days after that my knee was inflamed with fluid and aching.  I have been to the doctors many times in the last 6 weeks and no one seems to know what is going on with my body.  Has anyone out there had any similar instances to this.  I have had countless tests, i.e. lyme disease testing etc. and still no answers.  Could a vaccine be bad and set off symtoms like these, or are these side effects from this vaccine?  I also understand that hepatitis b vaccine can mask symtoms of ms and arthritis.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had 2 of my 3 shots already, and I'm in a great deal of pain, in my right arm where they gave me both shots, and the pain is also in my upper back area, I can barely turn my head to the right, and when I go to lay down, the pain is so bad that I can't get my proper rest, I should not have had those shots, because I took the series of three shots around 8 to 9 years ago, and they told me back them that it did not take, but they knew that I completed the 3 series of shots, so fast forward to September 02, 2015, they did some test and tell me that I need the shots because they did not take the first time, I should have followed my first mind, and then I would not be in the condition that I am in right now!!!!  "I Will Not", be getting anymore Vaccinations, for anything, except my Tetanus shot which I get every 10 years.  * Note:  If something is causing all of these problems, then I wonder just what’s in those little bottles that they suck up through their needle, and inject into your body?

Yes I had the red rash that looked like a bad sun burn within an hour of the injection, shortness of breath, throat felt like I had swallowed lye, joint & muscle pain, High fever 103 6 days, I was off work 2 weeks but have never recovered my health to where it was before, this happened in 2002 the nurse and my Dr. were sure it had nothing to do with the shot and thought I just had a bad virus. Now I have Severe RA, Addison's, and Hyperparathyroidism, and I have had 22 surgeries since the reaction. Now looking back at when I had the injection and the time frames of all my heath issues since, all my Doctors and Specialist feel my reaction or what ever I had after the injection is connected to my past and present health problems. Having them say that to me is a long way from getting the to make a legal statement and at this point I am 100 percent disabled, at the time of the injection I was working Federal Law Enforcement, Teaching riot control, Raise and training American Quarter Horses, had my own hay business, and did carpentry on the side now I have lost all my hobbies and am very limited on my activity at all, in fact my tendons and muscles can tear with normal use let alone working out. Good luck to your Brother.

I was sitting at my dining room table studying and was reflecting on how long I have had my symptoms from my final Hep Shot in August of 2010.  The tinnitus and swallowing issue still remain.  Unfortunately, not one medical professional would entertain the idea that the vaccination could be the culprit, but I did fill our a VAERS form which is a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.  It is how the government keeps track of vaccination adverse effects.  I have learned to live with what happened and am thankful that it was the final shot in the series.  I do still believe in vaccinations, but I also believe that there are some serious side effects to some individuals who receive vaccines.

Well guys look at this way...

While some may have some allergic reactions to HBV vaccine it protects you for life for something we have to struggle with..and take really dangerous drugs

i got my first hep b shot on aug,21,2012 two days after i started having severe pain in my right arm i couldn't lift my arm at all and it hurt so bad i'm still having pain in it  i can't get comfortable when i lay down because i have to position my arm a certain way so i can get a little relief which isn't very much. i dont think i'm going to take the second and third shot because im scared of what may happen. my advice to any one is dont take this vaccine because evidently the doctors dont know about this bad side effect i hope my story help some one else.tee

On August 25, 2010, I had my 3rd and final Hep A&B Series Shot (Twinrix), despite the fact that I brought my blood work to the Health Department representative showing that my body was showing immunity.

The representative told me that I still needed the 3rd shot because there was no guarantee that the immunity would 'stick'.  Against my better judgment, I had the 3rd and final shot.  In the first 48 hours I developed a tickle in my throat and has trouble swallowing.  Now I have a sore throat and severe tinnitus.  There were other issues too including heart palpitations, vertigo, visual disturbances and joint pain.

I could probably deal with all the side effects except for the Tinnitus which is greatly affecting my studying, sleeping, and overall well being.  I am an A student with a scholarship, who is having trouble retaining my readings due to the severe ringing in my ears.  I attended my first clinical last Friday having only slept 1 hour!

Fortunately, I have a good support system in place, and I am planning on going to an ENT physician this week to see if there is anything that can be done to alleviate my symptoms.

At first I thought that my symptoms would only last a few days, but now I see that they have been with me for over 1 week, and I am now concerned that some of the symptoms are permanent.  If I find that my tinnitus is permanent, I do intend to sue the manufacturer of the Twinrix vaccine.  Had anyone disclosed these side effects to me initially, I would not have gone ahead with the 3rd shot after having blood work showing my immunity.  I am angry, anxious and extremely depressed by this experience.

The health department comes to our school and just gives the shots without ANY disclosure of side effects whatsoever.  Furthermore, when I called CDC to report my side effects, all they could tell me was that my side effects were not showing up in their databank, and that any serious side effect would have shown up in the 1st 5 minutes to 24 hours.  They were not experts in their field, just parrots, that read what I had already found on the CDC website.

If seems as if it is possible for someone to get the Hep A/B vaccine and not develop antibodies ?  I've had the twinrx injection for Hep A/B twice.  I did 3 hep b shots altogether, and one a.  The third hep b shot in the series was done almost a year and a half after the first one.  I'm wondering if I was properly vaccinated ?  Whats the test to see if the hep a/b vaccine worked ?

the day after my hep b shot i started with neck pain and by the second day i could hardly turn my head. the pain then moved into my shoulders and mid back. i am never sick or have pain and when i do i can tolorate a lot so this pain was really getting me down. by the time i was ready to have the second shot the pain had subsided a little by using heating pad and taking antiinflamatories. the day after the second shot i was in such pain i could hardly get out of bed and when i did, i layed around for two days trying to cope. by the fourth day after the second shot i started thinking about what could be causing my neck, shoulder and back pain. i knew i never lifted or strained anything so i started going back in time five weeks earlier trying to see what i did differently. the only thing i coul come up with was the hep shot. i asked the lab staff around work if anything like this had happened to them and it had not so i didnt think it could be the shot unitl i looked here for side effects of the hep b shot. wow,, i'm not crazy. others did get this terrible pain in the neck. i am not very happy with my Dr,,he definately thinks it is not related to the shot. i know better, i know my body and i know it started witht the shot. i will need the third shot right after the new year and i am terrified about taking it. i cant get rid of the neck pain now so how long will the pain last after i get the third shot? so the real question is?????will any Dr admit that the shot caused these pains???and will the pain ever go away?????

I’ve got my first shot 5 days ago,I was fine until yesterday when I felt nausea, dizziness, chills. I thought it’s maybe just a coincidence, but I couldn’t sleep all night, I felt my legs and lower back are aching and I have a rush all over my chest ,stomach and neck. Can you tell me for how long did you have the symptoms?

I had this shot 10 days ago and within a few days I had tingling, burning sensations under my skin on elbow, knee ,hip joints. I have had a migraine and felt dizzy for the last few days and am also sensitive to noise. I also have lower back pain and my head feels numb wiyh pain at the back of my neck. I was fine before I had the shot...went to GP today, he said it could just be side effects from the shot and should go within a week although he's never heard of it before!!!! I certainly do not want the 2nd and 3rd shots if I'm goin to feel like this again or it get worse. feeling quite scared about it all now!!!

I got this shot and within a few days, had horrible migraine headaches, felt dizzy and had severe sensitivity to noise. After three weeks, my migraines are a bit better but my brain still feels numb and my neck at the base of my skull is sore or feels a bit numb. I also have brain pain when I blow my nose. I just went on Crestor, so I thought it may be due to this, but now I think it was the shot or the combo if both. I went off Crestor and am seeing the doctor today, since I still feel dizzy and have some ringing in my ears, along with neck pain.

Hello everyone, i have recently completed the 3 stages of the hepititus vaccine, and between stages two and three, i experienced, ( and continue to experience ) joint pains, mainly in my feet and toes ( very painful ! ) also pains in my knees, thumbs, and hands.
I didn't connect any of these pains to the vaccine, until recently...and doing research on the internet...i was told it was safe by the doctors...and now they're saying it couldn't possibly be the vaccine, because it's not a " live " vaccine ?
I suffer from severe M.E. so you can imagine how i now feel ! Is there anyone out there that can give me hope that these symptoms will pass ? I know reading some of your experiences, this may happen, but at the same time i've read of long term symptoms, that haven't gone away. ( i've had my symptoms for a month now ) If anybody could give advice, i would very much appreciate it.

Being a health care worker, I was given the 3 part shot in 1998.  Within a month or so I was like the rest of you.  Unrelenting pain everywhere, transient numbness, memory loss etc.  Finally I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia and was disabled for over 2 years.  Now I am an active functioning person with bouts of this.  I just think that we don't know what underlying immune system issues we have and that getting a vaccine is an unnatural way for the body to build up antibodies.

Mazeyrae and to all the others.  Please contact me my email is ***@****.  This has happen to me too.  Before the vaccine I was perfectly fine. My vaccine was given in a 3 shot series.  At 3rd needle I experienced some joint pain but did not attribute it to the vaccine since the work nurse denied it as being possible.  After the series I still did not form the antibodies so my work said I would need to do the series again.  I did do it.  After the first shot a few days later I started experiencing difficulty with my ankles and feet.  I work in a physically demanding job and so I attributed it to that.  However, after the 2nd shot I became suspicious. All that Mazey wrote I had happen to me as well.  Arm, hands, neck, feet, ankle, hip - every body joint was swollen and filled with fluid.  I could hardly get out of bed.  I barely could make it to the living room without needing a break to sit.  I missed so much work too.  When I went to the doctor - who ran tests for other possible reasons.  I asked my doc if the vaccine could have caused the problems and she denied it being possible.  I went to the hospital they denied it as well.  Much lingering aches and pains of months past and last Friday was the last shot.  I even asked the nurse again if she thought what I went through was caused by the vaccine.  She again denied the possibility.  At any rate, she said it was the last shot and there would be no others.  On the following Tuesday the same injection arm was inflamed, swollen and fluid filled.  I went to the doctor who said it was tendinitis, and she again denied possibility of the vaccine.  This week has been painful for me especially with a work that has no sympathy. So here I am again searching on the internet to figure out what is wrong with me.  This is how I found your post.  Why isn't there more information about this side effect?  Why would the doctors act like this could not be the cause?

I have had my first hep B injection a week ago. The day after my arm was sore and continued to be sore all week.  Then yesterday the pain had spread to my shoulder and I found it painful to lift my arm or move my shoulder.  I took some pain medication and am off to the doctors today , as I have no idea what is causing this.  Everyone else at work who got the injection are fine.....will let you know what doc says
take care

I had my first B vaccination on 9/12/08 after testing positive for Hepatitis C and undergoing a liver biopsy.  I shortly felt bad, but thought it was just a flare up due to weather change.  By the fourth week, I had joint pain in my toes, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers.  No swelling, just pain and popping of the joints.  On 10/13, I was negative for RA, Lupus and Lyme disease. I had a second shot on 10/17 before researching the vaccine and seeing that my symptoms may be a side effect.  I have improved; however, I still have extreme pain in my hands and it is still difficult to do normal tasks.  I cannot confirm that the vaccine caused my symptoms, but I do now think it is possible. I am encouraged by Pauline's comments that she improved in three months.  Pauline's description is exactly how I feel.  It has now been two months for me. Good luck...Susie

I had my first Hep b with no too much reaction. Achiness, fatigue and ended up with mono (at 46) . Had second Hep B right before minor surgey. I ended up in the hospital for a week unable to take deep breathes, walk, or move without excruciating pain. My CPK was 895( should be below 165). I believe the Hep B shot  caused all my problems. I have to stay extremely well hydrated and try to flush out my system.I have never been in so much pain.Hope my answer helps.

Sorry to hear that you have the same side effects from the Hep B vaccine as I had about 15 years ago.  After the first shot, I was OK, just a little soreness at the injection site.  A few days after the second shot, I felt increasing arthritic pain in all my small and big joints.  I was a perfectly healthy 45 yr. old at that time.  I could hardly roll out of bed every morning because of the hip joint pain.  Honest, the pain was all over my body, from the finger joints to the neck, shoulders, hips knees and ankles.  Practically all the joints, big and small.  I felt doomed, not knowing if it was permanent.  My hands hurt when squeezed in a hand shake.  An arthritic old lady must feel like that.  Luckily, after about three months of suffering, it began to wane and now I do not take vaccines of any kind.  The nurse giving the flu vaccines refused to give me the flu vaccines after hearing my history.  Thanks for your info.
Pauline
