Welcome to the forum. I question if the pathologist who read the ultra sound knows your husband was treated for hepatitis C. I would wait for your doctors explanation who has all the information. "Maybe" is a interesting
word in a pathologist report. Never have seen this before. Remember very few people have been treated for hepatitis C in the big picture. Lots is unknown about the results of treatment and its effects. This could make a difference in reading the results of your husband's ultra sound. The liver will be changing after treatment. It's not a bad change and "maybe" just that the pathologist doesn't understand the changes being made due to being free of Hepatitis C.
Let us know the results and hope this helps
Interferon damages everything
less clotting ability. at 50k, serious problem. were 140 k before treatment.
so what are the complications of the 80k?
your platelets decreased while on treatment? did you need transfusions?
I developed cirrhosis during treatment and also suffered a very significant loss of liver function within a few months of starting treatment. It has never come back to normal. platelets went form 140 k to 80 k. just one example.
Enzymes never really changed much.
I highly recommend that your husband eat a non-inflammatory diet to combat any possible lingering liver inflammation that may have been caused by the drugs. Make it an ongoing goal.
How did liver function fare, after treatment?
Ok, this is weird. I was in the new format, under Lynn I typed great answer. When I hit comment, it changed to the old format. Crazy! And I meant to say Great answer DWBH
Sorry, I'm confused. Who knows maybe I have been transported to another question.I am writing to contact us but not sure what to say LOL
DWBH has given an excellent answer.
I remember when I had a biopsy and they said "wisps of collagen suggest possible transitioning to cirrhosis"
I was graded a 2/4, my doctor said he felt I was a 3 but the pathologist would not change it
Try to see a hepatologist.
