Getting Hep C treatmeant

While my insurance company is playing games with Gilead and the Federal Govermeant I fear I will be the big loser with my death. My Hep C was contracted in the US Army in 1969 Viet Nam era. My Insurance Oxford Freedom says I would need a liver transplant before they would approve treatment the VA says they don't currantly use Solvoldi and Olysio and Peg Intereron is not an option because I suffer from depression for which I have been awarded 50% disability by the Veteran Admin.

My physician ordered Sovaldi for me, this medication would have cost me with my insurance over $27,000. per month (my cost).

I too got the run around from my insurance company, they refused to pay for the Sovaldi, riba, interf, However, my physician, a hepatologist was really ticked off by that and he arranged with the PAN, Patient Access Network, a non-profit organization to support patients who are under insured and meet their eligibility criteria which thankfully I did. They paid for all my medication and as of this date 7/19/14 I am clear.  I started in January 2014 and ended approx.  early April 2014.  TEL: 866-316-7263  M-F ET.
Good luck.

I'm sorry you are getting this kind of run around from your insurance. I don't have good advice myself but want to suggest that you post this in the Hepatitis C forum instead of the Post Treatment Issues forum. This isn't the right forum, and besides, the other one is much more likely to bring a lot of responses. Good luck!
