I am suprised you have not received weekly blood test results. I would go in on Monday and receive an email with test results on Friday. They included everything except the HCVRNA. You should ask for the results and they should give them to you. I took my 15th injection an hour ago. Injection day is usually a good day. I get tired the next day and feel pretty good the rest of the week. Good luck to you husband and you. Remember, it could be worse.
That is great news, CoStudy!
My husband will start week 15 (injection 16) on this study in a couple of days, started week 0 on June 9. He was the first to start treatment at our location. We were told that we would not get any info at all until the study completes, as it is blinded; but that week 12 was a milestone and that week's labs could exclude him from continuing. The only lab results we have seen are the local lab pre-dose CBC and Comp Metabolic because his other doctor wanted to see them and we got a copy one week. We have been told he is mildly anemic but no cause for concern, otherwise everything looking good. At first I thought I had read somewhere the criteria for continuing on the study was a 2 log reduction but now see on the page at clinicaltrials.gov , as well as on the sponsor's website, that the primary endpoint is cEVR, i.e., UND. We were also told that we would not hear anything unless he was to stop the meds. (as the RN put it, "No news is good news.") and that it would likely be up to 2 weeks until they got the word from the sponsor. The anxiety level was definitely high as each week came and went, wondering if we would get the call not to take the next shot. As it turned out the 2 weeks passed (as of last Wednesday) and on Friday the research assistant called to say he was good to continue on the study. *rolling eyes* So we do not know the actual lab results, only that they were good enough to keep going.
Good news.
Is this your first treatment or have you had previous standard therapy?
And if you did have, did you relapse or just not respond?
Cheese
I think a lot of the anxiety comes from the not knowing as I had to wait for 12 weeks for results."
Congrats CO I think we all understand how you feel it's that not knowing and waiting to get there that is the killer but you are well on the way. Fantastic news.
PS Even years later the waiting doesn't get THAT much eaiser (but it's nice to know SVR is SVR although it's still sort of nerve wracking - that is what HEPC really teaches us, patience).
Thank you for your kind words. Finding out you are UND gives a new since of hope and make person feel much better. I woke up this morning feeling better than I have in weeks. I think a lot of the anxiety comes from the not knowing as I had to wait for 12 weeks for results.
dointime - I do know there are 2 people a week ahead of me and they are both UND. I have not heard about the other people in my week yet. There are also 3 people a week after me also. I will post their results if I fet them.
Super news. Now keep taking those meds, drinking that water and sooner than you expect this will all be behind you.
Best to you,
Susan
Great to get good news about the lambda. Congratulations. Do you have any idea how others in your study are faring?
