Here are a few healthy choices for achieving the fat goal...

Walnuts - 1 oz = 15 to 20 g fat

Almond butter - 1 tbsp = 10 g fat   (see note below about peanuts)*

sunflower-seed butter - 1 tbsp = 10 g fat

Macadamia Nuts - 1 oz = 20 g fat

Sesame Butter (tahini) - 1 tbsp = 10 g fat

Coconut meat - 1 oz. = 20 g fat

Avocado - 1 fruit = 30 g fat

*(NOTE: peanut butter...  there is some conflicting information regarding their benefit to the liver. This is primarily because of peanuts’ potential for being contaminated with aflatoxins)

Wish you all the best in your healing journey!
I start treatment today!!! A bit apprehensive but hopeful and ready.

Cream cheese, cheesecake (it's 25 grams!), ranch dressing with veggies works well, potato skins with cheese, bacon, and sour cream is my absolute favorite!

"Eventually you start going with whatever you can choke down and start counting days.  And that changes over over the weeks"

I'm about to start week 10 (on INC), and this has been my experience, too.  I started out buying all kinds of healthy fat foods, and most of it I've yet to be able to get down.  I quickly developed food aversions, which got worse as the time went by.  Now, I eat whatever I can get down to make my 20 grams.  Yogurt still goes down, but I lost the eggs, cheese, almond/peanut butters, avocados week ago... :(

Yes, I'm counting down the days -- My last dose of INC is 6 December 2011, but who's counting?  LOL

Take care, everyone... :)

Eventually you start going with whatever you can choke down and start counting days.  And that changes over over the weeks.

Almond butter on multigrain toast

6 triscuitts, topped with cheese, topped with sable and rosenfeld olive bruschetta topping got me through a few night or lunch snacks

Bread with flavored dipping olive oil

Hard salami and cheese sandwich on multigrain got me through a lot of lunches

Salad w shredded or crumbled cheese, crispy onions, creamy dressing, bacon bits, pine nuts

Nuts, cheese, ice-cream, and egg nog got me through the last couple weeks, too tired to be creative, resorted to choking down the quick foods.

Hang in there.

That's tough because with the taste and smell change what I had planned changed as some things could not be looked at.Had stocked up on peanut butter, nope. The first 4 weeks tried to eat healthy after that it was one healthy meal a day and what ever you can stomache.Would eat 2 donut sticks with milk everyday for a week, then go to cookies, the one that lasted the longest was jimmy dean suasage biscuits.I just didn't have desire or energy to think food, good part is i lost almost 20 lbs.Bad news is my appetites back now.Yea

Here are some things I eat for the 20 grams of fat:

8 ounces Greek Yogurt (be sure it is the Greek yogurt)
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. mayonaise
Several Tbsp. whipping cream (see label for exact amount)
2 ounces Chedder cheese or Havarti cheese
Scrambled egg with 2 ounces Chedder or Havarti cheese in it
1 cup eggnog
1 medium avocado
Pate, 2 ounces
2 Brats

I never just drink eggnog or eat 2 Tbsp butter or a few Tbsp. whipping cream. I always eat some solid food to slow the absorption. The butter and the mayo and the whipping cream and the eggnog, are all just to be sure I get those 20 grams of fat at each pill time.

I try to vary what I eat as much as possible. Mornings (6 am) I have a lot of Greek yogurt (at least 8 ounces) and some whole grain bread with a lot of butter on it. Then I drink a cup of eggnog or eat a few tablespons of whipping cream. Then I take my meds.

For the 2 pm dose time I usually have a chicken sandwich or some sort of sandwich, with butter and mayo, and a cup of eggnog. Or I might have two brats and a slice of bread and butter, or a meat and pasta dish and a cup of eggnog.

At 6 pm I eat another small meal and drink a cup of eggnog.

At 10pm, I eat at least 8m ounces Greek yogurt and hacve a slice of bread with butter on it. Then I drink a cup of eggnog and take the pills.

I was getting sick of certain things too but now, by adding the eggnog, or the whipping cream, I can eat just about anything, no matter what the fat content, because I know I will get the fat in with the eggnog or whiping cream.
