4 months post Hepc Tx

Good day to all! Haven't been to the site in a long time! Was just browsing to update a bit. The urge to post is too strong to deny today. Post 48/wk TX end of January. What a ride...I had a rough time all the way through, on Procrit till 2wks post TX. I aquired other medical conditions during TX and still dealing with poor health today. My thyroid went hyper during TX, then hypo after, then back to super-hyper two mos. later. Nodules found on thyroid, biospies done, waiting for results and have referral to radioactive oncologist. Also scheduled for throat biopsy next week, voice went raspy and hoarse last 2 mos., Dr. suspects early stage throat cancer, it's curable too! I just want a life back! So darn tired of feeling exhausted, worn out and lousy. My hair is finnally starting to grow back in little tufts here and there, lost at least 60% during TX. Looks like a troll doll having a really bad hair day. Sides from Grave's disease very similiar to TX days. Thought all would be well by now and I'd be back on the brighter side of life, no such luck here. Amazingly, my hubby say's I have such a great attitude and outlook, going through it all like a champ. So this is venting ffrom the last several months. Thanks for listening!

the interesting thing is that women (I assume you are a women cause of hubby ref) take longer to eliminate Riba, sometimes twice as long as men!

One look at the line for the Ladies room during intermission coulda told us that!

I think that if your last Riba is a week after your last shot that you should probably start feeling better immediately. I got a shot of energy on the first day but quickly realized that it was going to take a while to be back to normal. Lots of things to heal - blood, skin, mouth, stomach, lungs, brain, you name it. But that first day, what a relief!

Congratulations on getting this far - good luck in July - last few weeks really crawl. I will have my PCR results by then - its like you get this little window - right after you finish where the pressure is sort of off. If SVR then window turns to a door and you get to leave the building - wouldnt that be nice?

1 to 2 months before the Riba leaves a males system, say it isn't so. My last Riba pills will be July 28th and I was planning on marking the 29th as "back to normal day." Now I see I might have to change my plans. Hope you get over everything soon.

Undectable at end of TX and 3mos PostTX too! I'm really grateful for that, but hate this long wait until 6mo. labs, then 1yr. My doc says the 1yr. mark is the tell all. I just pray it remains undetectable, got enough other problems to deal with.
Thanks for responding all. This forum really kept me going through the really tough times. I thank all that stick with this board and those of us needing to vent.

Just a thought about your situation. When I finished tx last week I thought I would take a look at how long Riba stays in your system. Wanted to know how long I would have to deal with those pleasant sides. I couldnt really tell how long before it was cleared out - somewhere between one to two months I think depending upon your kidneys and digestive system etc.

That was not the interesting thing I discovered - the interesting thing is that women (I assume you are a women cause of hubby ref) take longer to eliminate Riba, sometimes twice as long as men! Dont know if this applies to you but just thought I would throw it out there for you to chew on - maybe some residual Riba causing one more side before it checks out!
