48 Down, 0 to go and open thread : )

Finished 48/48 last night. Just a few more days of pills to go...Doesn't seem real yet.

Diagnosed in 1989, in denial until 1997 when I finally had a biopsy. Minimal damage, so I did the natural treatment thing. Tried mono tx in 2000 and lasted 7 weeks due to nasty sides. 2002 had another biopsy and stunned that fibrosis jumped to grade 3. After tons of research, including finding this site, I decided to treat with Pegasys/Riba. Got so many tips from everyone here - I couldn't have done this without you!

Please use this post for open thread - anyone else have good news to share???

Bless you all : )

Gail

Gail, congratulations on reaching the finish line. The detox should be a pleasure; hope you have a swift, smooth ride to SVR.

Gallium, I'm awed by all you're dealing with, and I'm truly happy that the HCV tx is working. I'm 38 weeks past tx now; it's amazing how fast time flies when you're not on tx. I hope things continue to go your way.

I remember having some mixed emotions when I finished. It was sure nice being done, but at least while Tx was going on I felt like I was doing something! I'm sure you'll have good results, you earned it!

Gail...great job...try not to bite too many nails waiting for the pcr test.

Califia, I missed you! sorry about the meltdown, I hope you did not watch the debate, that would have been the straw that broke...boring!
ANyway, congrats on the negative, will you go 36 to 40 wks beyond that point? That seems to be the standard, to get the best shot at SVR!
GEt some weed from New Soj to ease the sides...or take two aspirins and write me in the morning...

I don't know how the heck you all have done it, going the distance like that. I mean, if I think about exactly how long I'll be doing this therapy I'm ready to end it now. So I just think about getting through the day instead.

Yes, as long as it #@$*& ! takes. Even if I turn into the creature from the black lagoon.

You guys will still be around to visit, right? You're not going to leave me alone in this swamp?

hi all, geno type4 with leukeamia, and thrombocytopenna.
just did 32/48 and got pcr test results back yesterday,
still NEG! ! ! ! been neg since 12 week test. I see the chief
of the abdomial transplant unit at tulane university, and he now gives me and 80% chance of svr. way up from the original
of 30% when i started treatment. going to take a month off after treatment then do a month of rituxan for the leukeamia,
after that i get to have spleen taken out. its gotten so huge
(25cm.) that its pushing my left kidney out of position by 1.5 inches, and pressing on my bowels ( causing a partial small bowell obstruction). however i can see the light at the end of the tunnell. its been a long hard run so far, i'm still working,
( i work in an er and have a white count of 2 for 4 years because of leukeamia, now down to .9 with anc of 400 so started neupogen. but have never had an opertunistis infection ! !
so guess i'm very lucky). i usualy dont post much here but lurk all the time. this msg is directed mainly at the 2 other 4's
hey guys i'm beating this monster and you can also. good luck to all and may the godess shine her blessings on all.

Thanks all for the kind thoughts : ) I'm really looking forward to not feeling like I've been hit by a bus every day.

Califia & Gallium - UNDECTABLE - Woo hoo!!!!!!! Has to be one of the best motivations to keep in going. This treatment is tough going and you are both so strong to stick it out. Great news.

Deb, almost to the finish line, right? Planned that spa day yet???? Mine's next Thursday....ahhhhh....

Yes, Im almost finished. I "will" be pampered immediately after i finish.......i know i will cry and be thankful, so very thankful that this is over, no matter the outcome. Nov 22 is my last hell week. It seems when i work i make myself feel good or it just happens that i do. But, when i have time off, i plan things to do and then i just say to hell with it and stay in bed, blinds drawn and phone ringer on off........I hate it...
I can't wait to get my life back. I have lots to do before spring and feelin like "you know what" isnt in the program. My son is getting married in the spring and i need to aleast feel good. I put on such an act around him, he doesnt have a clue, he thinks i have been doing great during tx.......I should get an award.....lol......Debbie :)~

After hubby left for work this morning, I sat down on my bedroom step and cried my eyes out. I'm so happy that it's almost over, like you, no matter the outcome. In normal life, I spend so much time with friends and family. During tx, been such a recluse and I want my life back! Ironically, I've been able to work the whole time and lucky my boss lets me work from home on Fridays. We WILL get our lives back.

Son's getting married, eh? So much to look forward too. I can just picture you...the glowing Mom of the groom. What fun! Hopefully spring will bring good SVR news our way too.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS are in order for all of you!!!

oreos - anyone who takes on these medications at all - no matter how long they are able to go - deserves great credit.

califia - good to see that you tested so soon after your 12 week'er. Even better that you came back clear! That's the kind of news that not only is great to recieve in the immediate, but can be the foundation for the distance run. Relan and enjoy - you have plenty of time to think of how long the rest of the ride will be.

gallium - you've got plenty of grit and determination to carry you through all of your trials. May God's blessings and mercy be upon you.
