48th Shot tonight... Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think I'd make it, and I am sure I wouldn't have been able to hang in there with just the info that I got at my doctor's office, but I will be taking my last shot tonight. I made it because of this forum. Knowing what to expect before it hit, and having people who knew what I was talking about made the rough spots a lot easier to bear.

Thank you everybody for being there for me all of this time. Sorry I haven't been so active lately... been feeling really rotten lately but hopefully soon I'll be back to my old self & I'll be back like I used to be.

(:-) Diane

I agree with Trish about the emotional and physical transition.  It took me about three months to start feeling normal.  I don't think it's a coincidence that the 3 month PCR came back UND, my first assurance that I probably won't ever have to do that again and a huge emotional relief.  But there was a physical transition too.  Reasonable concentration took a while to come back and insomnia increased for a while.  I didn't start losing hair until 21 or so weeks into tx and it continued two months post tx.  Itching issues took about the same to resolve.  I'm not as strong as before tx, but that's because I was such a slug so I'm working on getting muscle back.  My head hair is coming back but not the armpit hair (yay!).  And I haven't gained back any of the weight I lost on tx, I even managed to lose another 5 pounds (yay!)  Keep drinking the water, but don't rush the ribaviron out of your system, it's still doing its job.  Are you taking ribaviron for another week?

Good luck, and congratulations.

Congrats on your last shot night and for making it all the way through!  Not uncommon for there to be an emotional and physical transition time so e good to yourself over the next while.  Will be hoping for good news oh...about six months down the road. :)

All the best,

Trish

Thanks for that reminder about drinking liquids. I hadn't even thought about that but ... duh... I do want to wash all of this crap out of my body as fast as possible.

Congratulations on the last shot and hope that you recover quickly. Keep drinking those liquids even after tx is done - it's still important. (I learned the hard way). Best wishes to you!
