After ccompleting Triple TX

Hello All, I finished 48 week triple TX on Nov. 6 2012.  It is 2nd time around for me as I did not achieve a SVR after 1st TX with only the Riba and Interferon.  Have tested NEG. since week 5.  Side effects were not as bad as first time.  I am bipolar and have seen a DR. the entire time for bipolar for both treatments. Question/Problem:  I actually feel worse after treatment.  I cannot sleep, I get sick when I eat, I am so depressed, and my get up and go has gotten up and gone!  My head Dr. had me on the perfect meds, I sailed through this TX. (Of course the first 3 months were pretty rough seas!) but other than that...all my labs could not have been any better the entire 48 weeks...I was even taking 7 Riba a day because they said I could stand to be more anemic...I never went below 11.  Anyway....anyone else felt worse after treatment?  Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I did not feel this way after 1st TX.  And it took me and my head Dr. 4 years to get my meds right...I mean, I finally had a life again! Now I am losing what took so long to get.  Thanks to all that read and share!

Dear Billy,   Thank you so much for replying.  My first experience with a forum, hard to believe I made it through first TX with no help, friends or family!!  I related to your words like I could have wrote them.  I have had a headache I can't get rid of it...am way out of shape...I tried to paint my house and thought I was going to die after an hour...I used to paint all day...everyday for 25 years! I am female and had to have 2 surgeries and then went through 2 Hep C TX,s, so yes...way out of shape!  i don't recononize myself.  I am exersising and have lost 27 pounds, I started when i was on treatment, but since finishing TX, it takes all i have to do the littelest of things...believe it or not...I have even said that I wish i had my meds back...now that is just sick!  :|   .  I have never been able to leave the house without water...np problem there......only time I've had a panic attack is when I didn't have my water!!  Thanks Billy!

Dear flcyclist,

Thank you so much for your reply.  You can't know how much it has helped!  It actually seems like I am going through what I should have been going through while on treatment.  I know that isn't possibe? and doesn't make any since at all but I even have a rash now..on my stomach like first time around.  I did not get the rash at all this time.  I had to break out the Sarna lotion...ewwww the smell and boy did it bring me back to first TX!  I talked to my Hep C Dr.s and they said pretty much the same...they said there just isn't much data yet on after treatment effects, and they asked if I would share what I might learn, even!  After my first TX they tested me at 2month - negitive, 4 month- negitive and 6 month - positive!! So my new Dr. is just going for the 6 month this time, so it will be May!  AND I WILL BE NEGITIVE!!! :)  YOU ALL WILL BE SOME OF THE FIRST TO KNOW!  I will keep up with my after effects and post them if it gets worse.  I hope you and all that read, stick to it and achieve the SVR we tried so hard to attain!  Thank you again!

First,  congrats to you for finishing your 48 wk tx.  This is a major accomplishement and you should be very proud to get through as well as you did.  Now that you're finished with tx you will go through a period of recovery which will include emotional issues as well.  Tx doestn't stop the day at eot, but continues for some time as our bodies readjust to life without the meds.

I have no experience with bipolar disorder, so best to rely on your doctor for guidance and adjustment of medications to help you.  There are many supportive and knowledgable members on the forum that may have personal experiences to share that could help.  Also, you might take a look at the Bipolar Disorder Community forum to see if there might be a others that can give you some guidance.

Welcome to the forum and hope you nailed it this round.  Give us an update for your 3 month pcr.  Best of luck.
