Are new drugs in use now??

Hey guys,
I have not been on this forum for about a year now. I also have not seen my gastro. in a year either. I need to go back soon. I want to know if the new inhibiters are out yet for treatment ? I know when I go back, she is going to want me to go on treatment, but I want to wait till the new drugs are out. I am a nonresponder, geno-1a

Yes, they are out! I start all three together on Aug 1st, it will be interferon, Ribavirin, and Telaprevir. They say... if you respond within 4 weeks, it can knock treatment time down from 48 weeks, to 24 weeks! It is mainly used for Geno1a. Hope this helps, and maybe we can clear this stuff!!

Yes they are!

Telaprevir is marketed as Incivek (www.incivek.com)
Boceprevir is Victrelis (www.victrelis.com)

Good luck to you!
