Bad Day

Hi everyone, today wasn't the best day in my life.  My husband was sentenced to 20 months in the Federal Prision system for misapplication of bank funds.  He was a business lending officer and wrote a loan to payoff old gambeling debts.  This happened back in 2002, but wasn't discovered until 2005. We have been dealing with this for awhile and today was the day of sentencing.  He will spending at least 12 months away so it looks like any treatment I need will have to be postponed.  I don't think I could work and take care of our 3 children while starting on this treatment.  I did do my lab work yesterday to find out my genotype and viral load, and should know early next week.  I also quite drinking when I found out (about a month ago), so I hope my liver will hold on another year.  Anyway, sorry to unload so much - I just needed to vent.  Take Care!

Thank you guys. We don't have family here in Texas, but are beginning to make friends.  Not quite sure how to explain my husband's "disappearance", but will figure something out.  My kids are unaware that any of this is happening, so they will be upset too when daddy isn't here.  I'm glad for being a part of this group.  Thank you for caring.  ps I'm in North Austin.

Just when I'm really starting to get a good "self Pity" going , someone like you Sunshine , comes along and makes me realize once again , that I dont have any problems.

Best of luck to you and your kids , its going to be a challenge.
Is there anyone , family? , that can help you?

Please tell your husband to stay away from prisoners bearing home made tattoo needles.( unlikely that he would want to do that, but just a thought)

Take care...

Thank you guys.  I really appreicate your kind words.  It's really hard for me to open up, but I already feel safe here and a part of this family.  I hope I'm strong enough to give out words of encouragement for anyone who might need it.  We just relocated to Austin, TX from southern California.  I didn't know I had HCV when we moved.  I just found out in August.  I am a stage 2, grade 2.  I hope you all have a happy and well Labor Day.

You just relocated?  Do you know anyone there?  Wow - you've got a whole lot to deal with now.  New place, new diagnosis and now this.

Hang in there - it MUST get better!

HI Sunshine,

I am sorry to hear your news.  Hang in there.  I was diagonosed in April.  Just got my biopsy results and and I am a Stage 1. I've had this for 30 yearas.  I am holding off on treatment, and my doc said it's fine.  I quit my job.  My husband works, but we still need a second income.  I drank for years and thought I would be in worse shape.  I don't even go back to the Hep doc until Feb. He said he is not going to do another biopsy for five or six years as long as my enzymes remain good.  He told me it's a slow disease, and it doesn't usually progress in woman as fast as men.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  There is no way that I could start a new career and start treatment.

Very sorry to hear about your husband. I think I remember you were a stage 2, so waiting another year or so, seems a reasonable decision based on what's going on. Hopefully by then, better drugs will be along.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband.  Awhile back in our town there seemed to be a sweep of the banks and a lot of people got caught up in it.  I know it will be hard but 12 months will pass.  I am sorry you can't treat now, but you have a lot on your plate.  Take care of yourself.  Check in with the forum often and try to continue to not drink.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles for your family.  You hang in there.  DOn't make any decisiions until you get your tests. Do you have any family that can help?   Are your kids small?  I would imagine small or teenage years would all be the same.  I will pray for you and your family.

Hello sunshine, Im sorry to hear about what has happened in your life just now, all you can do is concentrate on looking after yourself and your children until your husband returns.
I wish you the best in your tests results and hope that your liver is at a stage where you can delay your treatment.
Do you have any other family that could help you during this time?
Take care and stay in touch.
