Be careful of Amox-Clav antibiotic.

I had a type of infection on one of my hip scars that started to spew yellow fluid. I was given Amox-Clav antibiotic. It worked, but came back after a few days of stopping it. The problem with that antibiotic is that it raised the ALT and AST levels!

Hi Magnum nice to hear from you! I had a similar concern a couple of years ago. I had the same antibiotic prescribed for me. I Google it and saw it was a concern for us folks with liver disease so I called my doctors office and asked them to prescribe a different antibiotic. I also recall that when investigating this medicine that many antibiotics are problematic for people with liver disease.

Thanks for the heads up

Did your doctor prescribe a different antibiotic? If so, what was it? Thanks.
