Update on condition.... so after spending all day getting EKG, chest xrays and labs done the good news it is NOT heart related or life threatening.... BAD news it is a condition called costochondritis which is still painful. Evidently after I came off the Incivek and got the 2 blood transfusions I felt good enough to overdo it a tad. Normal life stuff didn't seem wrong but after spending most of 12 weeks in bed I guess it was. I am anemic and they say to take advil, IB, or Aleve to relieve the pain. (needs an anti inflammatory type of med) Trying to figure out now which one would be best--- any thoughts you doctor brains out there?
You must find out what this side effect is yesterday mty friend,if you've never expereienced it you may even go to your nearest hospitals emergency, take care.
There are so many things that come up! I had ascites prior to tx and got panicked a few times thinking it was coming back. Turns out it was just bloaty tummy. Yeah, talk to dr. I'll bet your fine. I'm curious also about what state your liver is in. Ascites did become a problem again for me about 20 weeks in.
Karen :)
grammy __ I had some bloating too on treatment and there was no sign of ascites. But what is the state of your liver going into treatment?
Pooh is right - check with your doctor on this.
frijole
It could be a side effect but it could be something else.
I was very bloated until the nausea got under control (felt like I was carrying a 60 pound baby).
However, please call your doctor and tell him/her about it. You should get an appointment to be seen by your doctor today if possible.
There is no way for any of us to know what is causing your symptoms. You need a thorough examination, lab tests, other diagnostic tests.
Chest, belly, and/or abdominal pain can be very serious, even life threatening and you need to find out exactly what is causing it.
You cannot afford to take a chance. Please call and see you doctor today.
Wishing you the best.
