Can I know id this is SX or really Influenza ?

last weekend was the 8'th shot, until now with no serious sx.
Now I feel like I have Influenza but without the fatigue of Influenza.
Is there a way to know if this is Influenza or sx ?
I would like to continue with my sport that I do since started soc, would it be good with that Influenza / sx ?

Any advice would be appericiated.

Your dr can do a nose swab to see if it's influenza or not. You are already on heavy antiviral meds, so it's probably not the flu...but I'm no medical expert.
My father was very sick last summer, and they did a nose swab/culture and it turned out to be the flu. They put him on antiviral meds and advised us all to contact our drs if we had any symptoms.
I think it might be the meds kicking in, I ran fever during most of tx, I posted about it and got many replies from people who had gone through the same thing.
I like to think, since I cleared the virus, that it was my body putting up a fight, and led me to svr..

There is a terrible flu epidemic right now.  I'm amazed that there haven't been any news reports about it.  I know of two deaths in my neighborhood, both youngish people (48 and 61 respectively), from pneumonia caused by this recent virus.

Take good care of yourself, and if you get short of breath, go to urgent care or your doctor ASAP.

Symptoms of flu:  Fever, sore throat, all over body aches, and a horrible cough.  I have it right now.

Maybe you should slow  down for a few days until you can get a handle on what's going on.

Then try to get a feeling of what's happening in your body.
It's a pretty good machine and if you're sensitive to it I think you'll figure out what's going on.

Advise:  Slow your pace, listen to your body  and do a little self-care like resting, eating well, and gentle exercise.

Thank you for your reply and all of your stats.  I appreciate your encouragement too.  I am only 26 years old (have had this since birth) and I am a geno 3a, so I know I have a great chance.  The dr. is putting me on Peg-intron/ribaviron, and from what I have read (probably reading too much) peg-intron has worse sx than pegasys?  Although, like you say, everyone is different.  I wish you the best, and hopefully your flu will go away soon :)

Dear booocooo - you really have no reason to be scared, There is a good chance that you start treatement and find out that SX are none or very mild, you must try, no one can tell you how you personnaly will feel with the SOC, just jump to the water because it is much better then doing nothing and all real treatement today are acctually based on SOC (Interferon & Riba).

That's great that you have had 8 weeks of shots and no sx!  My advice would be to listen to your body.  If you have a fever, your body is fighting something (whether it is a sx or not) and your body needs all the help it can get from you!

I know it's hard to give up, or put aside things you love doing because of how you feel, but you need as much fighting chance as you can get!  I hope you feel better soon!

Just curious, what geno are you, and what tx are you on?  I start in three weeks and I'm getting really scared.

Thanks!
