Can hepatitis C transmit through biting someone with it ?

My little brother bite a family member with hep c in the hand. From what I remember, it did not bleed but I'm not 100% sure. There were no blood traces on my bro's teeth.

great answer pooh55811, as usual....you can't hear the person say what they are typing and sometimes we don't get the true meaning.

ya think this thread will ever end? i feel like biting myself.

Wow! I'm a little confused by this. I made my last post right before heading to the airport for a pretty longl day of travel, and my brain seems too tired to understand what's been happening here. Either that, or it just doesn't make sense. I kinda think the latter, that the drugs are messing with people's emotions. I hope everyone feels better in the morning!

I think you are reading way too much into what people are posting. Most people on the forum are here to help. Most people have good intentions and are sincerely trying to respond accurately and helpfully to the questions people ask. Take what people post at face value. Don't try to read more into the post that what is actually in the post. And don't try to assign hidden agendas to posts when no hidden agendas exist.

This is an internet forum and none of us knows each other from Adam. You do not know Can-do-man. Because you know nothing about Can-do-man or his motives, you have absolutely nothing to base the following statement on:
"Now if you want to fool yourself and claim you didn't post that out of some discontentment smack in the middle of that mess. Go ahead. Dude that's silly."
What's silly is that you are even making that statement to Can-do-man. You are accusing him of posting a post out of discontentment. That is totally ridiculous. You have nothing on which to base that accusation.

People on this forum are here to help people who have questions. Please just take the posts that people post at face value. Please do not assign hidden agendas to the posts and please do not try to stir up controversies over perceived hidden agendas or perceived hidden motives.

No,no,no. That meant to nothing to me.  I just think possibly the second time must have sounded to serious to you. I was going by your personality that to me is my type of funny. But I did say at the end "my bad" and I meant that. Now if you want to fool yourself and claim you didn't post that out of some discontentment smack in the middle of that mess. Go ahead. Dude that's silly. I've bent over backwards (for ceanothus) but I dont know what else to say. I'll never joke again, just kidding!!

You forgot to post the link to the thread that I was suppose to be so "mean" in..... All I did was copy what the doctor here told him.........

In a private message I was teasing him (or I thought I was). I asked him if he was grumpy grouchy. His answer was No, and he proceeded to go back and post the guy. Just read that post if??? I don't know if you would. That's when he posted about me and you know what it said about people asking question.
So being itwas in the middle of this , please it was very much a slam to me. Then there was more on the mean stuff from me but clearly I'm not allowed to say stuff like that, when we spoke before it was just fine.
Then he asked who I was?? Said that I claim to be new but people are wondering about me.  Do you want more or am I doomed anyway?

"But I'm fairly sure you "uncledudeness" didn't quit get what can-do-man was trying to stir up. "
-------------------------------------

And exactly what was Can-do-man trying to stir up? Can you please enlighten us.

Here is what Can-do.man said, "Not sure what you mean, people come here and ask questions and others take the time to answer them....... ceanothus answer was spot on, so whats the beef???"

All he said was that he is not sure what you meant, Mzkity, and that Ceanothus gave a great answer. Plus he explained to you that people come to the forum and ask questions and people on the forum respond and answer their questions. That is pretty innocuous. There is no hidden agenda in what can-do-man said.

Oh her answer was perfectly fine. It's nice people like her that give great answers.   But I'm fairly sure you "uncledudeness" didn't quit get what can-do-man was trying to stir up.
Yes it's so much like me to think I'm smarter than ceanothus. Uh no I  do not. And I immediately messaged her. But i think if you read the entire paragraph it helps me out a little. Lol!! O dumb a$$ kitty.
But I stand by the comment, for 2 reasons. It is easy to answer that question if you follow many, many posts.( If you have hepc or not) truly if your scared ask a question. But by chance did you follow one of post today.? Second reason is I hate to see some people with ESLD give so much and it's to a person with OCD. Not hepatitis.  Sorry dude I tried to message you but not everyone pays attention to those. I'm a loser with nothing to do. Ha!!! Kidding
shot night,,,shake night.   Thanks.   Kitty

it seems that it's easier for a lot of people to spend time asking these questions rather than doing a little research on the net. at least it was about HCV.

it sounds like ceanothus had a great answer.

You are talking about a cut lip on a different day? No way that can be a problem, even if it was the same day but a half hour later it wouldn't be an issue. Besides, if the person with Hepatitis C didn't bleed there wouldn't be a risk no matter what the other circumstances. Why don't you ask the one who was bit whether the bite produced bleeding? Bruises don't count, there has to be actual blood coming out of the wound and going directly in contact with an open wound on the other person - and even then its a pretty small percentage of cases where it will actually pass the virus on. It's just not that easy to transmit this virus.

I think you are worrying unnecessarily, and I sure hope you aren't spreading this excessive concern to the little boy too.

Well, bad news.He accidently bite his lip and tongue today at lunch. He did rinse his mouth like 5 times before eating but I'm sure water can't remove hep C traces.I think it's a must to get him tested, how long should I wait before I get him tested ?

Hepatitis C is only transmitted blood to blood, so even if he had broken the skin of the other person, he still wouldn't get it unless he had an open sore in his mouth or on his lip. Do try to get him to stop biting people though!
