i'll be starting treatment next month, that's a good thing compared to no treatment.  I read somewhere about lowfat diets for a healthy liver.    Is that really important?  Any thoughts and advice are appreciated.

yes its important! Because one of the liver's jobs is to metabolize fats. So by lowering your intake of fat you will be doing your liver a big favor.
