Digestion

How does hep c effect ones digestive system. A lot of people say they speak to their g.i . dr. and they sent me to one as well but I thought that was for a different reason. I also have cryoglobulinimia and SLE but there must be some reason. I know our liver filters out the toxins and that relates but unclear about how it all fits together.

The reason a person sees a gastroenterlogist or hepatologist is because HCV causes liver disease and the liver is an organ they specialize in. It is not HCV that can be fatal, but very advanced liver disease can. How ill a patient is from HCV is measured by how damaged their liver becomes over time.

Please read about the HCV and how it effects the body. There are many many articles on this online.
