Thanks! I'll try that! I still have a dry patch that won't heal.
I recently used some hair dye and my scalp had a bad reaction to it. I had a little dry scalp previously but nothing crazy. After my scalp was so dry and itching all the time and scabbing. I tried the Shielo Hydrate Shampoo and it was INSTANT relief. I also feel like it took it away, my scalp does itch anymore.
almond oil or vaseline petroleum jelly --works well
Well, I also have dry patches on my face. My right eyelid seems to have a patch of psoriasis or something on the top eyelid. My eyelid is starting to sag and wrinkle on that side only. I tried to put face lotions on it and stuff, but it just stays the same.
I find if I lay on couch and put my head on the material of the couch it gets worse so I keep a pillow with soft case(forum suggested silk pillow cases help) on that does not flare up my head. Its the back of my head and around my face is the worse. I feel like little bugs are always falling on my face and in my ears. Wearing a hat makes it worse which is to bad, I was going to use that to hide my hair!! I am going down to farmers market and see if the hat maker can make me one that is lined with a linen material!!
Good Luck and hang in there!!
Hey! I have been using Selsun Blue and Pantene. Someone here suggested Dr. Bonner's Peppermint something, but I haven't had time to get it yet. My head has been crazy itchy and my hair is dry as straw. I did a conditioning treatment with olive oil mixed in mayonaisse. Put a plastic cap on my head and sat under the dryer for about 15 minutes, then washed it out. After that, then only thing I put in my hair was oil. There is one called Hott Sixx oil that can be used on your skin and on your hair. This helped with the overall itching but the hair is constant maintenance, which I am guessing has more to do with dehydration.
As for the back of your head, it itches more because you are probably sleeping on it, which kinda traps body heat. The rashes/itchies flare up more at night (in my opinion) because we are snug under the covers and warm.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. Yes, back of my neck, and mostly at the top of my forehead where the hairline starts, flakes falling on my face all the time. I'll try olive oil and other oils, thank you all.
Like Brianmo I've tried it all. I tried to keep from scratching cause hair falls out even faster. I use my steroid cream occasionally too. It's Krazy itchy w wig on. I hope you find some relief. Is it worse at the base of your neck? Looks like dandruff. Yikes? Karen
I have tried it all. Some work for awhile, a week or two then wham, it's back.
at night I pour oil on my head, Johoba, mineral, olive, whatever. Then wash with Nioxin in morning. That will get me a days relief. Keep trying things, you will hit on something that works. Antihistamine works every time. Look on my page and there is a post with this subject, lots of people have the same issue.
I have cut back washing my hair once a week most weeks. I found that this has helped with decreasing the dryness.
WEN 613 only problem is you have order from QVC
Some people have had good results with using fine olive or coconut oil. Put a little on your palms, rub your hands together and rub onto your scalp after you shampoo/
I've never used Noxin though I do use a mild shampoo and rinse.
I've lost some hair but started out with such a thick mane that people roll their eyes at me if I complain.
Good luck
