Effexor XR & Hepatitis C

I was treated for Hepatitis C in 2003 with Pegatron (interferon & ribiviron). The treatment was very successful. In 2005 I began treatment for Bipolar Disorder, severe major depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am currently taking the following medications: Effexor XR (750 mg.), Seroquel (550 mg.), Lorazapam (1 mg.).

My Hepatitis C is very active again with new scarring and liver enlargement. What impact do the above drugs have relative to the Hepatisi?

I myself was on Seroquel(and have hep. c), and unfortuantly that medication can cause damage to the liver. Have you gotten another live biopsy done? Is that how you know you have new scarring?? And 550 mg is a very high dose for seroquel ask your doctor if there are any other medications you can be put on that wouldn't hurt your liver as bad. I know that lithium bypasses the liver and goes right to the kidney.. I hope I helped.

What do you mean by " My hepatitis is very active?"  Did you relapse?  What is your viral load now?
