i know exactly how you feel. at the begining of tx i felt just fine. i still worked and went to school fulltime. Now i am no longer working and am only taking two classes online.i am now into week 30 something (i lose count and have to look at my journal to remember which week i'm in) and i am doing 48 weeks. at around week 20 my hair started to fall out and the aches and pains started, the headaches got worse, and my teeth became sensitive. i have been put on nerve medication, anxiety and depression medication, muscle relaxer and sleeping pill. while on tx i have had a hysterectomy and trigeminal nerve surgery. i need to have another major operation to remove a growth in the right side of my head but i will wait till after tx and am feeling stronger. anyways, for me, sides have gotten worse lately. but...i can do this and i will do this. i will kill this dragon and i will have the victory. you are not alon, my friend.

i haven't posted much lately as i spend most of my time resting and watching tv but i read alot of what goes on in the forum. good luck to you and take care. WE WILL BEAT THIS DRAGON

Forsee says...and if there isn't a whole lot of hair underneath your head won't get to hot or cramped anyway...if it's letting it breathe...

Yikes, you mean those things are alive???

Forgot to tell you, saw the show yesterday. It was short but good. At least they didn't make us look like a bunch of lepers. Just normal everyday people. Which was good.

Hello there, each dose is 200mg, so if someone is taking 800mg then their doing 4 pills a day. For some this meds do make it hard to sleep. You should talk to your doctor and have him give you a sleep aid. Glad to see you posting and if you have any questions just ask. Theres alot of us here going thur this and some of them really know what their talking about. Good luck to ya, hope to see you post more often.

When you say 800mg of Ribavirin are you talking daily or per dose? I just started treatment and I'm not as informed as I need to be.  I've never drank so much water in my life and how do you sleep. I swear I haven't slept in 5 days.

Thanks, I justed wanted to make sure, I was taking 800mg per day. I'm going to call the Doctor tomorrow about the sleep problem. I've been peeing so much I'm thinking of putting a bowl at my feet so people can throw coins in it. I'm a human fountain. ;)

That's a good bit of info that Kalio was talking about...the new wigs, and a well made one, aren't like the wigs of yesteryear...and if there isn't a whole lot of hair underneath your head won't get to hot or cramped anyway...if it's letting it breathe... I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to do if I lose a bunch...I used to do it in the early 70's anyway and it was really fun, falls, switches, wigs, Good Times, ha ha! And I'm sorry but my hair is my signiture, and I don't want it all scribbly! This too shall pass, I wish I could say it's only my hair!

Dude - the Male Pattern Baldness I seem to have gotten...it ain't gonna help to do the rasta look for me at all!  I need to keep my bangs working on my forehead.

It's just not fair...with all the **** women have to deal with that men dont I thought this would be the one thing I would have over you all!

Maybe I can find THAT particular wig though?  I am really going to go order one next week - something GORGEOUS.

There a young Mom at my kid's school who has these ultra-light blond rasta hair extensions that go down well past her knees (she's not tall, but not real short either). There's some pink streaks in there and a purplish bandana that integrates it all up at the business end. I'm not sure what her trip is, but chemo would seem to be the obvious call.

She looks GREAT! And she's having fun with it. She's made herself a nice pitcher of lemonade out of those lemons. She's always having a blast whenever I see her.

goof ......you bad boy.........and where are you going to put this thing?  I would really like to see that atop your head - post a pic somewhere!

cquest - well, hang in there. I know you are not anxious to begin again.  I really don't understand the mushy spot either.  Now was it on your leg?  Maybe a little research into site reactions will find an answer

it seems like forever, but it will end, and you will feel better. I know you probably don't see the light at the end, but it is there. Keep coming back to rant and whine when you need to, it does help many folks to do so.
Me, I liked to wallow in misery alone, because, in my case, I would have been saying "i feel like c**P" every day, and I would still feel like it after saying it, so I did not say it.  If it helps you, come back more often!
you will get the enjoy the end of Summer free of meds!

Hair schmair...ha! I might cut it super short and dye it platinum blonde...

I don't know what's gonna happen about that riba...I do have a prescription cream called 'Clobetasol Propionate' that seemed to work on the rash the last time...I've had dozens of different creams in the past that sort of wore off as far as working...all I can do is wait and see what happens I guess...The doc didn't seem too concerned and just kept saying 'your viral load is too high, that has to come down no matter what' soooooo what can I do? I'm more worried about the mushy spot where the shot went...I just can't imagine an entire body full of them...but then I tell myself 'why should I care? I'm not 32, I'm 52 for cryin out loud' But then again my husband is 7 years younger than me too...oh well...he can do whatever he has to do if he doesn't like it...not gonna stress over it...

Good to hear from you. I've always admired your fighting spirit even before tx began when you lost all that weight.  Good luck with your 24-week PCR and may your sides be kinder as treatment continues.

Hey - don't feel like a weenie - what was that 6:30 your time.  I was just lucky - up early reading MH posts, and caught your post about a Hepatitis C program on Bravo at 8:30 eastern. Would never have seen it if you didn't post. Fortunately it was the first segment of the program, so I didn't even miss any work.

The first person interviewed was a typical soccer mom type- cute as a bug- - had 5 kids, driving to all these activities, and was NOT what the public would expect to see (altho we would recognize her as a normal hep C patient--- except how did she keep all that hair, I wondered?????).  They showed her about to nod out at the table with all her kids (that was pretty funny - but it got the point across)and one of them asked concerned, are you tired tonight?  She talked about her husband doing most of the cooking and cleaning. The other patient interviewed must have been your friend from the Janis sight.  I don't remember them saying he was in line for a liver transplant (didn't you say that?) but he was used as an example of more advanced liver disease.  He came across really well - you can tell him I said so. They even showed him typing into a Hep C forum - delphi I think I caught on the screen.  That is when they discussed the value of support groups and he told how he could talk about his bad days online and knew people understood.

So thanks, Foresee.  I was glad to have caught that.  Too bad it was so dang early that most people didn't see it.

I can barely stand hats.  I just don't see how I could handle anything tight on my head all day.  Think I will just hope no more falls out.  NO wigs for me.

Cquest  - how are you going to manage the riba?  Do they have any allergy shots for ribavirin (LOL)

yeah, like NY Girl said, guys hardly ever notice anything you do to change your looks (well, the straigh ones anyway, ha ha), you could walk in with god knows what on...

but like I said, we should find out about that reconstituted hair that Goof was talking about....much cheaper....

I am shopping now for the eventual wig that I will most definately need...I told you the doc is insisting I go back on tx...the gastro dog woops doc says no apt for 6 weeks...called my doc and she is going to call him...if I gotta do this I definately don't want to waste any more time than I have to...

I think I will do the same thing...get a wig close to my own hair color including the little sparkles of gray...similar length and style and I bet you people will just think I got my hair cut yet again...I'm always changing hair styles so it won't be so dramatic...Or else they will ask me and I'll tell them 'yeah I'm bald' just like people asking if you're pregnant...I just say 'no, just fat'...ha! That shuts them up for sure! I'm not all that fat but the 3 kids 2 c-sections, 1 tubal pregnancy and hysterectomy sorta messed up my stomach muscles...
