Finding a Hepatologist

I've been online all morning trying to find a hepatologist (as opposed to a GI) within driving distance of me.  I'm in Northwest Arkansas, so Oklahoma, Missouri or Arkansas would work.  Even Texas wouldn't be too ridiculous.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Kris

Hi, How far are you from Kansas City ...? 2 or 3 hours?    There is KU med center there and they have a great bunch of Hepatologists. Dr. Gilroy or Dr. Taylor come to mind.    Good Luck,     -Libby
Also Dr. Frielich does Clinical trials in Kansas City.

Hopefully, someone will chime in with some suggestions. If not, consider expanding your search beyond driving distance. In this scenario, you would use the out of town hepatologist as a one-time consult and then have him or her work in conjunction with a more local gastro to coordinate and supervise your treatment. This has worked for some members. If you decide to go this route, best to make sure the consulting doc will act in this capacity and of course you will also want to make sure that your local doc will as well. Once you have the initial out-of-town consultation, most everything else can be done via phone and/or email.  I know of some great docs in Florida, New York,  Boston and Chicago but hopefully you will find one closer.
