Folks, we are in the middle of an epidemic!

There are about 13 new people who have posted just today, my god the epidemic is worse than I could have ever thought.?

This is a medical issue because as a non-responder and unable to treat, I sometimes feel a bit isolated.  But there are so MANY new people here, I can't help but feel like we are not ALONE any more.  Jeez, we could start our own country.

Personally, my trust has gone out the window, I just read in amazement some of the stuff posted here.  But then, I always was a suspicious biotch.  I think it is one of the sx of Hep C, probably be posted as a question by someone tomorrow.

Willow wants weirdness wildly wasted with worthwhile wonderfully wonky posters back!!

That is the best darn piece of advice and support I've seen ... and there's a lot of good support and suggestion going around here. ... I surely could have used your words this weekend!!! ha ha... thanks soooo much for being here! I wasted an entire weekend with nausea ... I came on here briefly but the screen made me lose what was in my tummy... but I like that dust yourself off and grit your teeth... do  I hear an "Amen">  Amen! Thanks!!!

No worries mate - we all go through that phase.

Pick yourself up - dust yourself off and grit your teeth.

Love life when you can, get mad at it, but live it to the fullest. Stop stuffing and make some choices and survive those choices.

Have a smile - you've read a lot, learned a lot - here's hoping you've found the information that tells you that you're not alone in this disease.

There are a lot of us who have come here, the same exact way you did. And a lot of us who - like you - have found out that we have HCV - and like you... had a hard time just understanding what it is.

HCV is hardly known... until you get it.

It's up to us.. the Heppers around the world to make a difference - to educate... to help others understand.

It's up to us to change the stigma that comes with having this disease. It is no different than getting a contagious flu or any other virus.

It's not a "dirty little secret".

I'm sending you my warmest thoughts... and if you have any questions or just need to vent --- we're all here to help.

AND Willows - no kidding a lot of new sign ups. And suspicion is good. It's good to question that which we don't know. But don't let it infuse your every moment.

Life is too short to have to worry about who is who... WHO CARES? You have good advice - you have an absolutely wonderful personality - and you are YOU... So who cares what anyone else says?

Just turn in those who give harrmful info - or those who are spammers from heck.

Other than that -- I say have fun. Live life!

Add me. I dont know how I got it, but I got it. Hep C Type 1-a. I've known for almost a year and I'm stuffing it. I have been very depressed. I've came here and read several times and learned a lot -- overwhelmed is the best way I can describe it. Self... lost. I want to love life, but I am pushing myself down. I had to say something...

Man, it is such a drag to get old and then realize you are a cranky old broad.  Whatever happened to the flower child that once lived inside me?   I have to guess that about the time my viral load went from 10,000 at week 12 to 1,000,000 at week 24 and my doc just kissed me off, I turned a corner and got very cynical.

But I hope I hide it well, most people figure I'm a very nice person, with a beautiful garden, 5 cats and a husband that gets fed pretty well.  But I got attitude, about the medical profession, insurance companies and the EXPLOSION of one line posters here.

So, call me a biotch, but don't forget I am that and more, I got the same raging virus in my liver that the 13 new one line posters claim to have and sometimes, it makes me cranky.  I always raised my children to question authority in a respectful way, and I just have to question what the heck is going on here.  In a respectful way.

nygirl, I am very proud of the b title, I have never used it once in a mean way.  It is a tool of self defense and I bet you have used the title too, proudly, with the remote raised in hand, watching the wonderful goofy movies on Sci Fi.  My best days?  When John Doe is showing all day as repeats on Sci Fi.  Dominic can doe me anytime!

you are one interesting piece of work willow

all the wonderful wonky posters are gone willow, youre stuck with people like me.
no wonder youre depressed.
ive tried to be on my best behavior lately, but sometimes i just cant control it. now the thing about "suspitious posters" is really off the charts! can i sign up for that club? ill be the bookmaker,
yall can get rich gambling on who shows back up. the end.

thats my contribution to mind numbing drivel for tonight

the wise wistful willow keeping us entertained and informed, what a show.
see you on the next pass.

its obvious to us that you were once a flower child and really probably were more like "the star of the show" if the truth be told. you still are to us, as well as probably many others outide of here. yea youve slipped into the black hole, i know. but the thought of seeing it defeat you is a vision of which breaks my heart. you know my feelings on the black hole subject, youve seen the things ive written, im deeply worried im on the way. beleive me, i thank god a thousand times a day that i am UND for now. unfortunately, all of us going through this, we are just now learning the real ugly feeling of being mentally defeated. you just got stuck with a bigger dose of it than most. considering the stress you are under, when i look your way i see a hero.

you speak as if your "star of the show" character is gone forever.
this is poop. complete and absolute poop. you get the award for extreme poopyness!
we couldnt buy that story with a 1000 bill attached to it!.
thank god you came out and told us that. it wont take us long to get you staightened out. we are going to restore order around here right now!
while i dont know the state of your liver is, i beleive its just a matter of years before new meds are here. look up. we are all getting out of jail soon. this is the concept that i use and it gives me complete peace. its not if, its when. for me its just a matter of time, whether 2 years or 10 years, the time frame is not an issue i need to dwell on. because why? because im getting out of jail and thats enough.
my mind has been feverishly running wildly trying to figure out how to inspire you back to happiness. i havent been able to look at your posts
back before you didnt respond in treatment, but id bet that the flower child was present there. we do need the quirky "paraniod character" posts, i personnally
am releived to see someone around here showing their weirdness. but i would love one day to be able to see 'the star of the show" floating around here three feet off the ground. or at least the "flower child" if you prefer. im not against burning a few new posters at the stake for the sake of peace around here. but i somehow dont understand why newercomers feel like invaders to you and others. the only time i really notice one would be excessive posting. but all the others dont bother me. i would like you to explain that to me one day
when you get time. in any case, you are ordered personally by cruelword "under penalty of death" to revive your wild wolly wonkin wonderful poster self.
time to quit bitchin and put out. biotch!
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Flower child indeed. I knew it! I knew it! Don't tell me! Let me guess! Long flowing dress, sandals, flowers in your hair, sitting on the corner of Haight-Ashbury, blowing bubbles and listening to Country Joe and the Fish. That is too cool!  Pixie's for sure!

Well, you got most of it right, but it was the Ave in Seattle in the U district, now known as 14th Street and not such a friendly place any more.  And WHO could forget Country Joe McDonald......

One, two, three, four.
Well, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
Yeah, he's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
Gonna have a whole lotta fun.

You know tho, after about two years of flowers and drawing more peace signs that I can remember, I decided I neeeded to contribute.  I joined the Peace Corp, boy, that'll make a person grow up fast!!  It was a strange time, probably never be another like it.  Such a horrible war, I never in my wildest dreams figured we could do something as stupid as that war, but here we are.  Just traded the jungle for the desert.

Anyway, to make this a medical post, I didn't really do many drugs then except for a lot of smoke.  But the 70's, well, I got friendly with a straw then, that is as close to drugs as I got, but I understand it is still a very viable way to catch Hep C.  Doesn't matter anyway.

You always sum folks up so well, Tuef?  That's a sweet skill, I envy you.

LoL...

Well this board has more than quadrupled since 2003...

It's actually SAD to see so many new names... but IF Statistics hold true... we haven't seen anything yet.... between now & 2010 this place will probably more than quadruple again!

Yes, it is an epidemic. The numbers of people with HCV is growing at a much larger rate than the posters on this site.

I have seen my hepatologist got answers from him have read all the archives received my answers from that. Your right regarding all you said. A pandemic.
I havent slept in days just thinking about it and I m suppose to be on a "wonderful much needed vacay" I would do anything in my power to get some results if not for all us of ..at least for some of us. There must be something we could all do to make a big difference and make more people aware of our situation......We need more hope and more people to listen and help us.

For now like I said b4 lets try praying harder....I would do anything.
Cant even sleep.
Ive seen a few miracles happen on this forum but like Willows said the people are coming out of the woodwork unfortunately.Makes you really wonder how many people are out there that are afraid to even come forward or see it thru with a doctor and our current treatment protocol.

best wishes to all.
