I think your partner's chances are great! You guys just keep hanging in there and this will all be over soon.
I am type 3, undetected at week 4, did 6 months treatment and clear since with SVR.
My only concern in his case is that he has early cirrosis. The more advanced the harder to clear so the stattistics indicate
Nothing is a sure bet. But, if I were G3 with early cirrhosis and cleared by week 2 I would wonder if there is any better situation than that - there isn't.
sorry i didnt see he cleared at wk2 , then yes his chances are as good as they get
I cleared with less than 24 weeks tx and I've known other g3s who cleared with way less than 24. If it weren't for the cirrhosis, I'd say it was almost a sure thing, given the 2 week UND. If he can stay on the 1200 riba and does his full 24, I'd say he is doing everything he should. Hang in there.
If he was undetected at week 2 I wouldn't worry. Yes, there is a chance he could relapse after treatment, but if he cleared this early it's VERY low. There's no use driving yourself crazy over the small chance of relapse when you need your energy to help get him through the rest of the treatment. Try to relax -- he's doing the best he possibly could be.
did he clear at 4 wk? if so its about 90 % chance, relapse does happen but you hear more about failures rather success, so dont worry the chances of success are good
