Get vaccinated for Hep A & B

I had some doubt as to wether getting vaccinated for Hep A & B would effect my Hep C status. My Gastro assured me it would not and recommended I get vaccinated for both. I did that in 2005 with no side effects or weirdness. The Hep A vaccine is one shot, the Hep B vaccine is three shots over a six month period.

From what I understand, both A & B can be contracted for example: If you go to a buffet and eat infected food (mice feces, etc.), go on a cruise and buy food from street vendors, restaurants in foreign lands, and so on...

Ask your doctor if these vaccines are right for you....

I just got the A & B vaccine this past Friday. I go back in 1 month for another shot and then I think there is one more after that. My Doc said it was my decision but he thought I should. ( I was just diagnosed in
Feb. with Hep C )

Hep A is food borne.  Hep B is transmitted like HIV.  The odds of getting Hep B through food is pretty low.  Lots of other ways to get it though.
