Green light from my hepatologist today

Just got home from seeing my doctor and the results of my ultrasound 3 weeks ago. He congratulated me (even though my 12 week will be next week) that I am negative and all my blood work is perfect as well as my ultrasound the liver is smooth with nothing showing. He gave me my next appointment for next year and told me to go and live a healthy life. Doesn't get any better than that. Cured?  I say yes.I am only 7 days away. Very happy I feel and look fantastic. My eyes are bright and full of life again. I preserved for 4 years and waited for the cure with Harvoni. So grateful.

They paid my 20% plus the additional 4 weeks free that I needed that my insurance refused to pay. I am so grateful to them.

Gilead really helped me out as well. My insurance would cover 80% of the treatment. I could not afford the other 20% and so Gilead picked it up.

here's to another Dragon biting the dust!  Waiting for your Official SVR news, but I totally agree with you, if you made it to 11 weeks, there should no no problems!!

Don't forget to post the Official announcement, once 12 weeks are done.

Congratulations!

Blessings,

Pat

Thank you I waited 4 years refused to do any of the past tx and took a chance hoping my fibrosis would not progress to cirrhosis and waited for this cure and my risk paid off. Big shout out to Gilead for listening to me and my medical team. No thanks to my insurance company

Congratulations and YES your presistance paid off.  In my personal non medical opinion I had suggested not to worry that your odds were still good. We will never know for sure you wouldn't achieved SVR. But you certainly improved your odds and Gilead paid for it. Plus new hcvguidlines still further recommend caution and removed the * in treatment box. So 8 weeks doesn't appear nor referenced in the box

Maybe they noticed your persistence and that helped.  If you hadn't got extra, only 8 weeks and failed you would have been making a lot of noise.  They probably don't want to have that publicity.

I wish you the very best

Forgot to add we are going to thank Gilead for giving me that extra 4 weeks free otherwise I never would have made it with 8 weeks.
