<<<Just got in from work and was hoping to start research this weekend on the use of certain pain medications, such as opioids, decreasing the production of testosterone. I found a study that claims Interferon may affect testosterone production but now I read that pain pills may also be the culprit. This has my attention because I have been taking Lortab (prescription) since before tx. I am hoping, if I get off the Lortab my body may start back to producing on it’s on.
Now I have to work all weekend (from can to can’t) and will not have time or the mind set to do any research. If anyone has the time and feels like looking into it, please post anything you find. Got to go load my truck for tomorrow. Thanks, R Glass
I start to take 50 mg testo e every 7-10 days, also 2 IU HGH, that because I feel no libido and all people with hep C has very low IGF-1 in their liver, and this low IGF-1
Can damage your liver, because of that small amount of HGH: 1, 5- 2, 0 IU.
I also believe that will help the post treatment time. I feel better now. I start after 6 weeks after treatment stop.
You can take blood test after few weeks, if you don’t know your body and your hormones.
Low Testosterone and Medications for Chronic Pain
Chronic pain medications and the increased risk of low testosterone
If you're a man using prescription opioids to treat chronic pain, you may be at a higher risk for having low testosterone. The use of certain pain medications, such as opioids, may decrease the production of testosterone. A study published in the Journal of Pain showed that up to 74% of men using opioids for treatment of chronic pain have low testosterone.
I just ran across this and found it very interesting. I am running late for work and don’t have the time to look for the study published in the Journal of Pain. If someone finds it please post it, thanks
Diabetes is associated with low testosterone. Is your blood sugar ok?
Replacement is controversial because there's a question of it increasing the risk of prostate cancer.
Co

I don't know too much about this except I knew someone who started taking testosterone medicine and his body got used to it and quit making its own and now he's on it for life so be sure to ask your Dr if it's a lifelong drug.
R Glass comes to mind. He had a very similar experience. I'm sure he could help.
