1. Did you had hair loss ? Yes, I lost approximately 70-80% of my hair.
2. Which area of your head lost the hair ? All over, but it showed the most where it was thinnest at the "widow's peaks" and where I have a cowlick at the top-back of my head.
3. Is it just thinking or did is it going towards baldness, like you see some shinning of scalp. I could definitely see lots of scalp at those two previously mentioned areas.
4. Did your hair grow back after the treatment? YES!
5. If it did grow back, how many months it took to show a progress. Progress began to show about 3-4 months after tx.
6. How many months it took for the complete recovery. Probably 8-9 months.
7. Let us know your age. 59
8. Very important please share some tips to follow to maintain the hair. I tried Nioxin shampoo but found it really irritated my scalp without seeming to help. I used gentle Aveeno volumizing shampoo, kept my hair cut short (less weight=thinning less obvious), took Biotin supplement daily (promotes healthy hair and nails) and invested in a large selection of hats. The hats were perfect at masking the thinning and bald spots and also essential sun-protection for my exposed scalp. If you prefer scarves there are YouTube videos on different ways to wear them. Remember, this is temporary, and minor relative to your life.
1.yes, about 40%
2. All over but, but no bald spots
3. Thinning
4. I am only one month post treatment and it continues to fall out.
7. 57
8. Not washing it everyday helps. If I'm staying in the house and I wash it I do not blow it dry. I have not added any supplements as of one month post treatment. Good luck with your survey!!!
I lost close to 75% of my thick head of hair. It grew back strangely at first. The new hair was curly, while the older hair was straight.
Within a year it had regrown entirely.
I cut it short to help.
While doing tx, avoid harsh chemicals on both your hair and skin. I didn't over comb it but found combing in the morning over a trash bin helped me avoid having creeping, crawling hair everywhere.
I don't think age is relevant to this common side effect of tx.
I finished my triple treatment April 11 2013. The last 8 weeks of treatment my hair fell out with a vengeance. I felt like it was the crowning blow after all the other nasty sx. My hair thinned all over. Like Ceanothus said more where my cowlick is. I also cut my hair very short and actually like it. The texture of my remaining hair is pretty lifeless but the good news is my hairdresser sees new growth coming in! I too have been taking a supplement. It's called Viviscal. It's a combination of vitamins and mineral. Though this is a temporary sx it is for me one of the worst since nobody except my husband new I was doing treatment. It was a little hard to explain. I wish you luck in your journey.
hi my hubby did 24wks with incivek he to as experience all over thinning he only 8wk post tx so hasnt seen any improvement as yet but he isnt losing it anymore that stopped about wk 4 post tx. Looking forward in seeing what the poll turns up
Combo Treatment.
I did have thinning of the hair and it took about 2 - 3 months after treatment to rectify itself.
I used nioxin products on my hair during treatment
I have no problems 4 years post treatment with my hair....
Hi I wanted to come back to say. My good friend Orphan Hawk told me to stop looking in the mirror: If I did that I would say that I am now improved at 15 months post
If you click on magnifying glass and search for hair you will find many many posts regarding hair loss
Good luck!

I had hair loss, I lost the area over both ears and the back of my head. In hindsight I should have used a silk pillow case to prevent some of the breakage. It got very dry.
I was definitely seeing my scalp, I lost about 80% of my hair.
It has been 15 months since I finished tx and yes it is growing back, even thicker than it was before. It took a good 6 months for improvement. I was really upset, I obsessed about it til it started to grow back. At 15 months post it is still improving.
I was on Incivek, Peg, Riba.
I did notice that when I treated with just Peg and Riba the hair loss was much more diffuse and not as noticable but people close to me could tell a difference, my hair was every where.
There is an oil you could try if your scalp gets very dry, it is called African Oil and is made up of 7 to 10 different oils good for the scalp.
You could also try Nioxin, it helps for the growth.
The good thing is that I am SVR, I would shave my head for a healthy liver.
Good luck
A 47 y.o male friend treated with triple therapy (Boceprovir) and finished in December 2012. He experienced thinning all over, and large patches of loss around the temples and sides, resembling severe male pattern baldness.
His hair stayed thin until May this year, 5 months after completing treatment, when it grew back in what seemed to be a week. It is thicker and darker than it was.
