Have any SVR's experienced colds during treatment

I'm on my third round of treatment (Infergen)  and have recently caught a cold w/fever.  I have been negative since about 4 weeks into treatment and I am worried this may not be a cold but rather a flare up of the hepatitis.  Any have colds during treatment and still acheive SVR?

I had sinus infections in the beginning that turned nasty.

I also caugh pneumonia at the end --- and right after I ended treatment. (THIS WITH THE PNEUMONIA SHOT)

And I ended up with strep.

Allergies from heck...

But no just plain colds...

See your doctor ASAP.  I've been ignoring "cold" symptoms for a few weeks now.  Last weekend I wound up in the ER with ecruciating pain in my right side.  My chest x-ray showed pneumonia.  The antibiotic is clearing it up nicely but I wish I had seen my doctor much earlier - could have saved myself all that drama and pain.

agree - you shouldn't possibly have a cold, it is indeed a virus but oftentimes the things that make us really really sick ARE the bacterial infections that lead to pneumonia and bronchitis and such.

THOSE are what we take antibiotics for. AntiBs don't do anything against virus' whatsoever. Every time you've been prescribed an AntiB it is for something bacterial.

Go to the doctor! treatment is indeed antiviral not antibacterial!

(The good news is...you won't be getting the dread bird flu while you've on treatment :)

I did have a cold during one of my treatments, but it was very mild.  There are many different viruses that can cause the syndrome we refer to as a cold.  Most are eliminated by interferon, but not all.

I agree with the others, if you are really sick and have a fever, it might be a bacterial infection and should be checked by a doctor.

The time span that I was on 1st tx, the break between and the duration of of 2nd tx was probably the most healty I've been in years.  Of course, need to subtract the sx's and othe hcv baggage.  During those two years, nothing came near me; colds, flu, infections, wife, kids.  The only thing that approached me were our two dogs. But, i need to discount them somewhat because their main interest is sniffing foul things and investigating gross objects. And, I resembled that remark.

How you been, been wondering how you have been getting on.

Its unlikely you have a cold.
IFN kills most cold viruses and Riba should take out the flu virus.

But we can be prone to Bacterial infection. No damn white cells to fight it.
So get it checked out, they can be serious i.e. Pneumonia

All the Best
