Help do something positive, and voice yourself!!!
I feel very strong about politics, and my opinions. This is a medical support forum, and not the place, so I am silenced on party preferences.. I do ask that each of you taking the time to view this do your part in voicing the need for research, and funding for Hepatitis C. Take a minute, two, or maybe an hour, and write your congressman. You can even pay five bucks, and have it delivered to them. If not, email it to them for free, but speak out. There are many that can not afford the expense of treatment, and many companies holding back their research. More people die from HCV, than any other virus or cancer every year. It is the silent growing epidemic, and more should stand up and shout!! The numbers of affected, and mortality rates are estimated to triple in next ten years. I am one, but as a group, there is definately a better chance that someone will be heard and changes may take place. Do not be silenced, as a single voice, CAN change history. Write your congressman, write the first lady, write the secretary, write till your fingers hurt, but do something for us all.The web site, is WWW.congress.org.

Yeah, she did ultrasound, and it showed lession. That is why they did CT, and now CT shows this, so now for MRI. They say, that they have to know exactly what it is, so they know where not to place needle during biopsy!! Thanks for concern for mother, I'm sure she'll be fine. She is really scared of Bx, and is only doing it cause I'm pressuring her.
I would think the CT would have definately showed if there was any cirrhosis, and tumors...the lymphadenopathy sounds a bit less threatening than those. Thats great that you got the copy of the report already. Hoping and praying she is all right, and lucky to have sucha nice, concerned son.

Does anyone know what this means: My mother just got her CT results back and there is something that they are sending her for MRI now. It says that there does appear to be areas of increased soft tissue density in the periportal region adjacent to the common hepatic artery and in a potocaval location. This is suggestive of Lymphadenopathy in this region, and further evaluation with MRI scan is suggested. Also, two years ago, her VL was 4 million, last year 2 million, now only 524,560.. Boy, seems like liver detox and supplements are definately doing something!!!
But, please if anybody knows what lymphadenopathy is, I am very interested??

Damn, your good!! Thanks for the info. My mom has always lead healthy lifestyle for past ten or so years. Actually longer. She owned a healthfood store, and restaurant. Fasts for days when sick, always takes vitamins, and eats so much salad, the rabbits have started a riot outside!! I am hoping for the best, as she is real scared that she has chirrosis, or cancer. She is going to my PA, and loves her. She has done more tests, and got her on the way to tx in in one month, than three other Dr's in four years. PA says that she might have had a cold or infection at time of CT, and just wants to rule all possibilities, so is ordering MRI. Then she goes for Bx on friday. They move pretty quick down hear.Again, thanks for info, and good luck with last shot, right?? Your done, this week or something, right?? Hope that kitty is strapped down!!!!

The sad part is we can't win against enemies, (they callthem "Insurgents" these days), when they are 1/2 way around the world. I don't think there are enough Senators/Congressman that are old enough to remember Korea and Vietnam.
Shrink the Earths population down to a village of 100 people, keeping all existing human ratios the same, this is how we would look.

Hi and TY for addy. I for one have e-mailed Dr.Phi....Oprah..Center for Disease Control..Montel, and on an on. I will take the time to write to my local congressman I thing if we all pitch in maybe we will be heard. The CDC told me they had mailed out to each home in 2000, leaflets. I told them I had never rec'vd one and would it be so hard to do it again. After that I never heard from them again. But I promise I will not stop until I get some news that we are being heard from!
