Is Gingko B., safe for the liver??? Don't know...

Can anybody tell me if the supplement Gingko Biloba-(Spelling?), is safe for the liver?   I have such a hard time concentrating, or staying focused, or remembering anything and I was wondering if Gingko would help.  Isn't it supposed to help with this?  But, I hesitated and thought well what if it is not safe.

I have been told that I'm not eligible to get into the Vertex trials since I was already on the VX-950 in Prove 3 (Group C-no Riba group).

As far as Boceprevir..., I'd love to be able to get into a Boceprevir trial, if I could find a trial site near me for non-responders.  I checked at both Shands/Gainesville and Mayo-Jacksonville and nothing was available to me.

I haven't checked into the algae stuff yet....

NO WORRIES!!  I haven't bought any yet and I'm not taking it.  I was still in the contemplating stage.  Try to be careful as I don't want to do anything to make my fibrosis get any worse.  I had forgetten about that site, I've actually been to it before.  Thanks for the reminders and info though.

My latest blood work last week, my platelets are doing A ..O.K.   AST/ALT not so good, but it could be alot worse.  Blood sugar slightly elevated, but A1C is normal, so not to worry about it.  Fasting blood sugar was 111.     ALT: 104    AST:  99.   Like I said, they could be ALOT worse, so not getting all excited about it when I can't really change it any time soon.

Ginkgo may alter the way the liver breaks down certain drugs.

There is a medicine called Provigil which is indicated exactly for the types of memory and concentration problems you are having. As a side benefit, most people will also notice a reduction in their fatigue levels. It worked really well for me when I took it a few years back.

I have read that it is hepatoxic. I used to have herbal tea with Gingko Biloba in it and stopped drinking it, when I was diagnosed with Hep C

I will see if I can still find the link with all the herbs which are hepatoxic.
