Hep C Genotype 1a

Now after being diagnose in 2005 now certain docs are asking why I am on treatment? Also I am going for gastric by-pass when all of this is so now I am confused.  What the heck is going on?

I have had the same reaction from different doctors.  The surgeon who did two of my biopsies said my liver was in better shape than most people my age and didn't think I should treat.  -but that was in 2007 and now it is stage 3&4.  My internist who did a vl test or two was freaked out that I was not treating.  The reality is that except for specialists, the just don't know.

Arlene, how are you doing?  What was your beginning vl and the results of your vl testing so far?

Thank you very much for your reply I feel the same way. I am 50 and do not want this to get any worse and I did make the choice to get better.

My hep doc.. I do not think any of these docs are on the same page which I try to make sure they are. I have two hep docs and one is against the treatment and one is for it which makes me very confused.

Tx is a very personal choice .. for me it came down to my liver condition , age  & G1a like you .. I didn't want my liver to get worse condition - F3

If your doc's aren't your GP, GI or Hepatologist ... I'd tell them to mind their own biz ... it's your life .. make informed decisions ... they should too !

Which 'certain docs'?  Your GI?  Hepa?  I'm sorry, I don't really understand your question.
