Hep C Treatments

What are the latest (NEW) treatments for HEP C.  I have done the PegIntron & Rabavinin 3 time with no success.

I am starting in a new clinical trial Jan.21 with iiiiiiiiiiiiiinterferon and ribaviran and a drug I only know as r05024048.Of course no one will know you is getting the new drug,but I will post in this forum with any progress.

we are hopeful that one of two protease inhibitors will be available and FDA-approved by this time next year.  These would augment current interferon-based therapies.  Consensus interferon is currently available for some people who have suboptimally responded to interferon therapy and may have some utility.  There are numerous clinical trials ongoing that include other protease inhibitors and small molecules.  albuferon will hopefully also be available soon.

It's the same old, same old (peginterferon and weight based ribivirin) with the addition of a protease inhibitor.  The PI's interfere specifically with hep C viral replication.  They are called Teleprevir and Boceprevir, made by 2 different companies but interfere at the same site, look to be equally effective in the drug trial data and are so far expected to be FDA approved in 2011.  They have both worked pretty well in people like you who did not cure on the peg and riba alone.
