Hep C womens showers

I live in all womens shelter and I have hep c. Can my roommates get hep c from sharing the same shower as me. I do try to wash off all the blood with hot water and shampoo soap before leaving. But what if i miss a spot and my roommates accidently step on it with a open wound. Should i start buying bleach? or plain water is fine washing the blood in the bathtub as long theres no visible blood.

thank you for your time

Hep C is spread via blood to blood contact.

Although I didn't know it but I'm sure I had it the entire time my children were growing up, none of them have it.

Think blood to blood not blood to skin or hair or anything else. I wouldn't let anyone share your razor but other than that, don't worry.

I cannot speak to other virus or infection that could result from the situation you outline but blood contaminated with Hepatitis C has to somehow enter your blood stream. HCV is a blood borne infectious disease. It is not that easy to contract the virus.

Hmmm, I have often wondered this same question, although I only know
sharing razors is dangerous, because of the direct blood-to-blood contact.
It is not listed on the CDC website, as a means of transmission. If it
is worrying you, why dont you just buy a spray bottle and after washing the (menstrual) blood down, give it a good spray, with a diluted solution of bleach, one 8th bleach, the rest water?
You don't have to reveal you have Hep C (people lack education on this disease particularly, and freakout) and if  people ask, just mention you are a "clean freak".
There are other things we can catch from public showering, such as Athelete's Foot and Planters Warts, so maybe shower shoes for all,  especially if there is an open wound on a foot~
