If you test positive on a HCV RNA by PCR test which is a test for the virus then you may be able to get medicine to cure your hep c.

If the test is only a test for antibodies for hep c and you test negative on the test for the virus there is nothing that will change th eantibody test result having positive antibodies means you were exposed to hep c but if you test negative for the virus you are not infected.

Antibodies are made by your own body in response to the virus. Antibodies are not the virus.

Once you test positive for the antibodies to hep c you will always test positive even if you are not infected with the virus.

In the U.S. you can but different countries have differing rules.

Have you been tested for the virus itself or just the antibodies to the virus?
