Hepatitis B/C Transmission

Hello,

I have a question that I'd like to get a definitive answer for as I'm slightly confused and actually rather concerned. It concerns transmission through semen on toilet paper in the toilet. Yes this may seem a very odd and strange question but here goes.

If you were a male and had either virus and you used toilet paper to wipe your semen from yourself then put the toilet paper with semen on into the toilet without flushing the toilet and a female came behind you to use the toilet could the female contract hepatitis from contaminated semen from the water in the toilet which hadn't been flushed?

I'm worried about my mother who used the toilet afterwards and have other reasons which id rather not go into right now due to this being very stressful. I would really appreciate thoughtful and considerate answers here. Is this a route for transmission of either virus and is semen as effective as blood in transmission?

Thanks in advance.

Hepatitis C is not found in infective amounts in sexual body fluids. Hepatitis B and HIV are. However, the scenario you describe would be impossible to transmit the disease.

The answer is: No. Can't catch Hepatitis that way. It's not easy to catch. It's not like the common cold.

You have nothing to worry about.  Your mother can't get Hepatitis B/C from the discription you gave.
