I live in Tampa. i know plant city is close. If you'd like the contact info regarding the providers (hepatologist/gastro/hematologist due to low platelets) who have been following me (very pleased so far) send me a mail or note and i will be pleased to help.

welcome to florida well if this is the case (i am still not used to this place quite honestly... anyway) and welcome to this forum. it is a great place.

I have a friend who lives in Land O Lakes which is pretty close to you.  I'll find out who he uses and send you a private message.

Thanks for answering so soon, I live in Plant City, which is pretty much right in the center, but I am willing to drive a little ways for a good dr. I was hoping to locate one in Tampa but I haven.t been successful looking online. I shouldn't have trouble getting referrals, it will just take longer to get to the dr I need to see.

Where in Florida are you?

Northern half of the state I would try David R. Nelson, M.D. at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Southern half of the state I would try Eugene Schiff, M.D. at the University of Miami.

Problem is you usually have to be referred by a doc to get in to these guys.
