I took a Bp med at 10mg before tx, with the Inc. I dropped to 2.5 mg and then after 14 wks went to 5 mg, now after tx back to 10 mg.Even though I lost 25 lbs.,it went right back up.But at least not the weight---yet.
My husband has had high blood pressure for about 5 years and takes two medications for it. During therapy #1, his blood pressure remained stable on the two meds. During #2, it dropped down a few times, but not enough to lower the meds. During #3, it's remained stable. So, he's on the same to BP meds, same doses, as 5 years ago.

I bought one too and it is also way off.
An EMS person lived across the stree and I had
him double check when it appeared my BP was really high.
His instruments found my pressure to be nornal
Good idea vir111 I would of never thought of taking the machine in... thanks
I totally agree with virt1111.. I have one of the HBP machines for the wrist and I take it to the doctor with me frequently.. So, far it has been pretty accurate, but I will continue to have it checked just to be sure.. I am very thankful for it because one day my bp got up to 190 over 120 so I went to the heart hospital, they checked it and sure enough it was that high.. and they had me in to see a dr within 5 minutes.. gave me a pill to bring it down and did bloodwork to make sure there was no damage. If I did not have it, I would have just thought I was feeling lousy and would probably not be here right now.
My mom bought a middle-of-the-road one a while back and found it to be wildly inaccurate. I'd recommend taking the BP machine in with you to your next appointment and let them know that you have a machine that you want to calibrate. Have them do a reading and then test your new machine against it.
Thanks all - I hoping too that it stays down went out and bought a BP machine just to keep track myself, Being I didn't have HBP before. I'm praying that it goes back to normal after treatment and STAYS that way no more drugs lol
I am one of those people who had high blood pressure before tx and it stabalized during treatment and I stopped all HBP meds. I am in week 22 and I am hoping that it stays down after treatment.
If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.
