Do not be scared - be very pro-active!  Yes, you are young and most young people feel semi bullet proof.  However, there is absolutely NO gauge as to when your liver will become cirrhotic from the virus.  YOU MUST become very knowledgable about this disease and do lots of research.  Not everything you will read is the truth but the truth is always there if you keep reading.  If you drink then stop.. immediately.  If you cannot find a true hematologist then look for a Gastroenologist that has a strong background in Hep C.  NOT ALL doctors are created equal.  Stop the progressive damage that is guaranteed with the Hep C virus by getting rid of it as soon as possible.  These new drugs are incredible and an educated doctor will put you on the ones that will bring you SVR!!  This is not a death sentence for you just a reason to take care of yourself and become educated.
Blessings!

Time is defintitely on your side. With all the new drugs coming out and the 2 that are already approved your HCV has no chance. Get a good Hep Doctor and you'll be fine.
