I am becoming concerned for all here.....

I have been watching from a distant all that has been going on here and all those that really know me, know I stress peace and trying to help all here.

But in the last few days I've witnessed attacks on relgious beliefs, polical beliefs, whats right or wrong to post, who turned who into med help, and who's a hilly billie and who's not and who hates the French, etc the list goes on.

America is the melting pot of the world as we all know and our ancestors come from many countries. So far what I've seen here on the forum the last few days probably has offended everyone here in one way or another.

I'm probably going to be attacked for posting this, but I feel someone needs to.

Let's get back to what is important and get everyone to SVR.

Beagle

It sounds like from your post that I'm doing myself a favor by not reading all the threads.

How are you feeling? I know you have a PCR coming up soon, can't wait to hear the good news! Did you ever figure out what was going on with your toes? I hope so and I hope it has gotten better.
Bullies will do or say anything for attention, it's sad a person would do such things especially on a support forum for people who are ailing. The good people like you far outweigh the bad on this forum luckily. You are such a sweet guy and always bring kindness to the forum.

Good post Mr. Beagle.

Nothing like a bunch of riba-raged inferon junkies fighting anemia and immune system failures, or the tx's for them, while in a brain fog to fan the flames in a newsgroup/forum.

Although I must repeat a remark I made earlier that I have been quite impressed at how well this group has gotten alongl especially considering the various sx's so many are experiencing, compared to many hewsgroups/forums I've seen in the past.

One comment though is that it would appear to me, IMHO, that the great melting pot America once knew has been severly watered down in recent decades by all this PC being espoused.  It seems like the first thing most immigrants learn these days, legal or illegal (undocumented or whatever you want to use) upon arriving is how to work the welfare and legal system.  It seems like to some degree it has also raised the animosity to a point where folks decendant from past immigrants are asking "Why to I have to press 1 for English?".  A good case in point is the amount it cost to build the very limited light rail system by our metropolitan transit system because they had to continually add new languages to the ticket machines to accomodate each group which complained and threatened legal action when their native language did not appear on there.

Why I don't get is why people ALWAYS blame interferon and riba for all that goes on?  WE are not all on tx, some of us are 'normally' brusque.  DOn't dismiss all that people say because you think they are on meds, that can be condescending in of itself.

There is nothing extremely wrong with the forum lately, it is part of the normal ups and downs.  Please don't freak out over imagined woes. Rude words won't break or make MH. It hasn't so far. SOme of us might be undereacting and some might be overreacting.
peace and serenity to all!

Thanks for the kind words, don't know why this is happening here but hopes it ends soon.

I did a PCR after my 22 shot and was still UND so 3 months from that PCR will be 8/26 however 3 months post tx will be 9/12 so I'm debating when to do it and as you may already know I'm very nervous abou tthis PCR.

How are you doing this time around?  How's Ca this time of year?  Our son wants us to move out there but I'm concerned about the cost of living but more so the cost of buying a house.
Now our son has a new plan, LOL He wants use to more there and all I have to do is take care of the house and grounds and the wife do the cooking and cleaning and he will take care of all the bills.  Sounds great but don't want to put that pressure on him.

Grank oaks I do agree with you about those entering this country as illegals and that I have to push 1 for english, I think it's wrong.  I am an American first and for most but respect the countries my grand and great grand parents came from and their history.  It seems to be a catch 22 for all Americans.

Cuteus  Those on tx seems to handle stress and illnes in  different ways.  Even in my darkess hour with a HGB at 6.1 and other sxs, I didn't attack those here, at least I don't remember doing so.

"all we can do is not worry" were your words to me and they were good words. nygirl was a touch more assertive in her advice to you and still great advice!

You are lucky to have such a good kid, good kids come from good parents. Even the ones that fall apart have a better chance to find their way back if they have a good parent. You obviously are top of the line cause your son is! Peace to you, SVR is yours.

Thanks for asking about me. I am doing ok, plugging away at this tx. Hgb aroud 10 ad today is day after shot day for me so ot the best day. Had a rough week last week but that is to be expected since I stopped smoking after many years. My bod put up a protest but it seems beter now. I know waiting on PCR results is very stressful but your chances are excellent for good results and we are powerless and just have to pray.
You are so right about the cost of housing here but there are areas north of here that are still not too outrageous on the central coast. You still are looking at half a mil for a fixer in a not so great neighborhood but the real estate in Fl and NY is outrageous too so who knows. As you know the weather here cant be beat anywhere in the US and therefore energy costs for the home are next to nothing you dont need heat or AC. Your son sounds like a man with a plan. I think the idea of parents and kids joining hands on property can be an excellent move given the right property and relationship. In my opinion definately worth looking into. If he does come out to this area I will do anything I can to assist him/you if you need it.

If you read my post closely, I was not dismissing all as being a sx of meds.  I did say "most" which if we took a poll, I think one would find that a majority of the folks here are either on tx or recently diagnosed and considering tx.  I think the latter group experiences a psychological impact from their diagnosis much like those enduring the sx's of tx.

It is a well documented fact that riba does cross the blood/brain barrier and does have a host of common sx's associated with that fact, rage and depression perhaps the most common.  While I do agree that it can be a crutch to use it as a scapegoat for rude, or "'normally' brusque" as you called it, behaviour, the fact remains that tx alone does have an impact upon one's behaviour, and if you have any doubts I can show you the frying pan lumps I sport to prove it.

This has been an area of concern for me as I sometimes question whether I am experiencing a sx from tx or returning to an Egyptian behaviour of my old using man self and using the sx of meds as a crutch.

But I think it is equally condescending to say that some of the remarks made in post here can not be attributed to someone experiencing one of those sx moments often seen while on HCV tx or casually dismissing that such may not, or can not, be the case.

When goof mentions 'roids you can tell we are the end of discussing poop, sort of the door almost closing on a topic.  So, what sort of maintenance will you be doing, peg? Do you know how much and how often? Which peg?

how do you block someone's posts in here, my uncle doesn't need to read this ****.

That would be a great feature but unfortunately there isn't a way to block posts. You just have to skip over the offensive ones. Maybe the administration of the site can consider adding that feature. Your uncle is lucky to have such a supportive niece/nephew. I hope he is doing ok. How far along is he on his treatment?

I'm glad to see that I am not the only one with splinters in the windmills of my mind. Maybe one day I will be a legend in my own mind. I blame everything on riba its a cheap out for anything. \

Beagle, this is all your fault. You went and got well. How's the cold nose and sore toes. Dale

Perhaps not directly attributed to riba, but it would seem by your own admission that the frustration, stress, depression, exhaustion, etc. which can be attributed to sx's of this tx can make it extremely difficult to maintain our usual composure and simply bite our tongues, or at least respond with more eloquence, as we might normally do when someone posts something which that makes our blood boil.

It is making a blanket statement that "people ALWAYS blame interferon and riba for all that goes on" is what I was taking exception to and finding just as condescending as the original complaint.

Are you trying to say that with the anemia you yourself are experiencing that there are not days, or perhaps moments, where you feel like the infamous Lethal Weapon phrase, "I'm getting to old for this sh-t" and post a response to a remark made that you most likely wouldn't have done under normal circumstances?

Perhaps it's just me then that experiences times when I get tired of people trying to tell me how I feel, how I should be feeling, that I look fine so why am I behaving differently, and worse yet how I should react to situations at a time when all I want to do is crawl in a cave and hibernate until my next injection (which this past week has been every single fricken night) or inteferon, Procrit, Neupogen, etc..

Granted, as I previously posted, we should not make it a crutch, but likewise we can not dismiss the possibility of sx's affecting people either, both are equally wrong and condescending.

yes it is unfortunate that feature is not available in here.  My uncle travels a lot but he likes to come in here and read whenever he can.  I work in real estate in the town he lives in, and have been visiting at his house. When I saw this site up on his laptop I couldn't resist saying something to that poster that offered my uncle to treat himself to drugs and alcohol.  How can that be allowed on here, that post goes against everything a support forum for hepatitis should stand for.  And the one poster saying oh well that's this posters style, kind of like take it or leave it attitude.

You seem to be very nice and I thnak you for responding to my post and inquiring about my uncle's health.  He has treated a few times, not sure exactly how many, I am still learning all about this disease myself.  He still has the virus and has slowed down in his music quite a bit, but he works like a dog and never complains.  He's a very good man to his fans and family and never forgot about his roots and the hard times some mountian folk still have, he donates quite a bit of money to many causes and I am very proud of him.  He helped me get started with my own broker firm.

I always enjoy his posts when he stops by the forum when he is in town. I think he has treated several times without clearing. I hope the treatments have given his liver a break from the virus at least. I too relapsed but that is just how it goes, treating is a gamble you just hope you win. He has probably seen a lot in his time and has dealt with jerks before, he's tough but you are sweet to put up your dukes for him! He has to be tough to make it through what he has been through and still have such a good sense of humor, he is a funny one.
I bet he is pleased you are in town. We have such promising new treatments on the horizon hopefully they will be available sooner rather than later and we can ALL be free of this devil virus. Good luck with your business!

I find it curious that Mr. BB's post was about peace and reconciliation and it's now turned into a referendum on illegal/legal immigration...maybe there is more to his post that's even on the surface....

I have made or agreed with some political jabs at Bush, for that I'm sorry (it's hard NYgirl, I know, it's hard)...I've also taken the bait when someone wanted to bait me instead of merely arguing the merits of an argument one way or another...and I've also probably indulged in one too many silly conversations, but that can lighten up the tone around here so for that I'm not too apologetic....

But I am glad that Mr. BB brought this up, because from time to time it needs to be brought up on any board to remind the locals to be a tad more diplomatic and sensitive to other people....especially if there are patients who have been newly diagnosed and scared out of their wits...

Just imagine if this board was turned into to a political chat board as well as all things Hep C, YIKES YIKES YIKES!!...you think it can get radical now, my goodness...I already know that there are plently of people to the left and to the right of many issues...it could get pretty bloody around here under those circumstances...

I don't always know why talking about politics or religion can get soooo emotional and volatile, but it usually does...In my opinion, talking about Hep C in all it's complications (another alcohol thread anyone?) can get pretty devisive and contentious on it's own....

Unfortunately, we all know that we don't have to be newly diagnosed to be scared out of our respective wits either... treating and relapsing, not being able to treat for one reason or another, all of it can be so scary and stressful...that maybe in all of that stress and grief, we can sometimes take our frustrations out on others....adding treatment drugs to the mix, well...

I usually just quit posting or coming here very much while the board is being too contentious, or even cruel...fortunately, it usually just dies down after awhile. I know better than to make "grand exits" ha ha....I am glad I've gotten so much good information and support here as well...lots of really knowlegable, good, caring people on this board and it's great that the managers of this board make it available to all who need it...Have a great week everyone!!!!

We can't continue to blame EVERYTHING on the riba - while it can stress us and induce problems...most of what Beagle says (and I have WAY guilty at times in the last year too and know it) have NOTHING to do with Riba...just a total lack of class on my part.

It'd be nice to blame everything on the riba but - he's right and as a group we have to accept responsibility for the fact that we do post like children, idiotic stupid comments that if people aren't used to coming here = they certainly wouldn't come back for help.

I'll try to remember to keep my anti-Bush things under control.  I'll try HARRRRRD - but don't kill me if one or two pop out once in a while....I am weak! ;)

I live in Canada and believe me, even with the long history with the french, it still bugs me that we have 2 official languages. I've resigned myself to it just because at this point, there's nothing else to do. I put my girls through french immersion schools so they are both bi-lingual and it's helped the oldest to snag a very good job (I just wish the young one would LOOK). I'll be a crabby old lady and still *****!ng about Quebec but at least I got my kids ready.

I meant on the diversity of this watered down melting pot you know.  It's no melting pot any longer but one pot and one other nation of 25 people living in one $2,500 a month slum one bedroom apartment.

Sorry but I live in New York and as a caucasian am now officially a MINORITY with 60% of the population being from S. America. Black and white = we are passee.

There. sorry. Weak. Couldn't help it.

But watching kids not be able to get all the jobs that the "President" says NOBODY wants - continues to really kill me.

Oh yeah, I wanted to say, some people are just naturally insufferable, actually enjoy offending others. They wont stop and can't be reasoned with, for them, it's fun. Having little grumbles about this or that is very different than frequent daily attacks on anybody or anything. Probably one with real psych problems. Perhaps get on meds or go away.

Kalio -- Wow you gave up smoking at the same time as tx, that has to be tough.  I quit in 1992 but my wife still smokes.  She did quit for years but went back when her brother died in 2001.  She is saying she will quit again.  Hope your sxs are not bad this week.

Morgaina -- Thanks and NY girl is always very assertive just check out her post below this one. LOL LOL You have to see what she says to me.  But I love her, she a great friend.

hey Deb, saw you just had to throw that in about Bush.. LOL LOL

What am I going to do with you.

Also saw your post to me telling me to shut up about worry about taking my next PCR. LOL
