I feel like I am electrocuted

I it seems weird but after I take the ribavirin I become another person, my body is shaking, my head feels like a storm and all I feel all my body shaking and like it  was electrocuted.
From that moment I start to be restless and can't concentrate on anything.
Does anyone experience this feeling?

I've had a lot of riba reductions during the second half of my tx.  I've been on 1200, 1000, 800, 600 mg and zero at various times, and certainly 0 mg felt the best... I could tell the difference each time I went back up a notch: in fog levels, eye/skin hassles, energy levels, sociability... When I was only on Pegasys for several weeks, I thought I was starting to feel close to normal.  I certainly hope the reductions haven't messed up my viral clearance; I was undetectable at 12 and 24 weeks; the reductions started in week 25... Alas, we'll have to wait and see the final results.  I'll let you all know.  But with all the different things going on, it's hard to know what causes what.  I'm used to how things are now, but I'm pretty sure I'll feel better than this when tx is over!  So will all of you.

I too have essential tremors. The riba made mine so bad that I could barely function. My doctor put me on inderal which worked. Now that I am off tx, the tremors are still back so I am going to ask the doctor for the inderal again. I never got any reactions from the pegasys. It was the riba that became so toxic He had me stop the riba for a week in the middle of tx and at 7 days I felt great. Then I was back on it and muddled through to the end.
Hang in there dheana, just a bit longer.

good to hear from u.  good luck on the tx.     both drugs have thier sides.  interferon, flu like symptoms, fever, headache, depression, etc...   but you will make it .  use meds for the sides... most of us had/have to.   love and blessings~~~

riba did weird things to me.  made me feel like i was plugged into a light socket.  after taking them i would feel sick(er) racey, weak(er)  thinking askewed, etc.   that stuff is nasty.  i used to tell my husband  i might not be too bad if only i didnt have to take the ribaviran every day.   you are so close to the end.  the end of tx. was  the hardest time.  my family was afraid i was going to quit so close to the end.   and i didnt even go 48 wks like most of u.   i barely squeaked past the finish line but if i can do it u can too.

yes I felt something like that. I also have an essential tremor that i have had all my life and it was much worse when I would take the ribavirin. If I drank coffee i would go coocoo and be like totally nerved out and couldn't stand it. Man it's so good to be off tx and to be able to drink giant cups of coffee again. the nurse at schering plough said that that is a normal side effect of the ribavirin, but i would talk to my doc real soon if i were you because he can probably give you something to help.

I dont know if this is a new symptom for you, but I have heard from some ppl that ribavirin/riba/copegasys makes them feel "speedy", they describe their mind racing like a gerbil on a wheel.  I take 2 in the AM and 3 in the PM before bed. I used to lay awake & toss and turn, mind wouldnt "shut up"... then I got the ol sleeping pill which helps if I have one of those restless nites.  I dont need them lately but glad I have them if I do.  If this is getting worse for you please let your doctor know, maybe you are getting an adverse reaction to it.

Sorry to hear the riba is causing such a shock to your system. How much are you taking at one time? Are you eating a fairly substantial amount of food and drinking water first, and drinking water afterward to wash them down? I think doing that is important.

Also, I found that taking 3 ribas at a time was making me sick so I started taking 2 with breakfast, 1 with lunch or a snack and 2 more with dinner. That seemed to make me less nauseus.

Good luck
