Important question about ribavarin and Vic please answer ASAP

Hello everyone I'm on treatment today is day 26 only 2 more days till I'm at 4 weeks!! Lucky enough to say its been a breeze so far I start victrelis in a couple days which brings me to my first question do you start the victrelis the day of your fourth shot or the day after? I was confused about that

And my second question is since I started treatment I've been doing the shots every Thursday at 11am and the RIBA at 10am and 6pm today I wasn't able to get my second dose in until 9 pm I was wondering of that would mess anything up I heard they have a long second life and I really don't know what that means lol is it just as important to take the RIBA the same times everyday as the victrelis?

I'm nervousness about starting the new medication but nothing at all like I was before I started the peg and RIBA I was sick the whole week before I started come to find out that it was NOTHING!! And mean nothing what I thought it would be so its not as bad of a feeling! I hope I take those meds well it still makes me feel like I'm not responding to the meds cause I feel completely the same but I know that's not the case I've read people on here have experienced very few sides in the the lead in and still came out und at week 4!!! Ill let everyone know what mine is find out April 16th I can't wait if I'm undetect it will be a good bday gift cause my bday is the 11th

Yes, that would be fine to do your Riba at 7 and 3.

Hey pooh thanks a bunch for answering that for me and yes I've already got it planned to get my labs on the 27th!! My doc seems to be on things so I'm really happy about that! So the 28th it is ill start the Vic I'm going to do my first dose at 7am then shot at 11 next Vic at 3 and last at 11pm I'm glad I didn't screw up on the RIBA!! So that means it would be cool that also on the 28th I switch up the RIBA times cause I'd like to take the RIBA with the Vic dose at 7 and 3?

Thanks so much:)

You need to get your "end of week 4" VL drawn before you take your 5th shot and before you take your first Victrellis. So I guess the best time for your end of week 4 VL would be Wednesday afternoon or evening.

Then you can start on Thursday am with your Victrellis, then your shot, then more Victrellis. That way you will get a full day of Victrellis in on Thursday, the day of your 5th shot.

Taking your second Riba at 9 pm instead of 6 pm is not going to make any difference. Riba has a long half life (half life is the time required for something to fall to half its initial value). The main reason it is important to take Riba at the same time is so you do not forget it. Victrellis, on the other hand, need to be taken every 8 hours because it has a short half life.

Great to hear you are doing so well with Tx.
