Looks like we'll all be in good company during our next rounds of TX... When do you start?

NO CHILLS....I was beginning to think I injected saline, until I got a little nausious this a.m. LoL... but it was only a mild case, & a cup of green tea helped sooth that...

Anyway.. so far so good, & not anything like I expected, nor remembered... (Knock on wood) Poor Texasgal... that's what I was anticipating... but thank-goodness, I was spared.

Still curious what the higher doses of the riba will do when they get into my system. (I have a feeling that's what causes all the skin problems, & rashes... cause I am the only one that didn't seem to get that last time) Ha!

LoL.. I like your counting meathod... 71 more to go seems like forever & a lifetime away! I also liked your suggestion for my old quack too.. OoppPPppSsss.. I mean G.I.

Ya know it's bad enough that he did that to me, but it makes me wonder how many other patients are adversly affected by his lack of protocol... & the thing is... you KNOW that he must of gotten some kind of bonus, or kickback from the drug reps or he wouldn't be treating with ONLY Pegasy.... so you would think that if you are gonna enjoy the kickback, that you'd at least research & stay on top of the latest isuues (especially when a patient complains about it every dog gone visit) That just seems arrigant to me to not even research what your patient is constantly complaining about... & then for him to get an attitude & act all offended, like I am questioning his athourity or something...... Grrrrrr... I bet he didn't graduate within the top 10 of his class either..Ha!

it is number one of 4, then next month is #5 of 8, and so on. DON"T say #1 of 72 or it will overwhelm you!

It sucks that YOu have to do these meds, I wish you could shove them up your former GI's a** and get SVR instead.

This should be a lesson for newbies, don't believe everything your doc dishes out, even if it is what you want to hear, like taking less riba and only doing 48 wks is just dandy, after all it is not he that has to do it again if you miss the first shot at it.
you will be ok, and SVR this time.

Ificu1st,,,Sorry to hear that you are dealing with the infergen. I know no picnic but glad you have found medhelp to help you get through it.  I hope you have some easier weeks ahead of you!

Bon_vivant,,,,,I sure hate to hear you are in it now for the 72 weeks,,,,I know that has to be hard to face starting on week 1.  I hope so bad that this second round will be easier for you since you know what to expect.  You know the ropes well and have medhelp so maybe the weeks will fly.  Your garden sounds really nice and maybe just getting outside will help you feel better!  Got my fingers crossed that you won't even notice that first shot!

scruffy, you are a hoot! PEPasys is what I'm going to call it now! Secondtime and bon_vivant, I am continually amazed at the good attitudes you have towards retreating. I too am a relapser and will follow your journeys through re-tx and will try to gain some of your spirit. I can't help but think that you both are going to beat the dragon this time!

I don't know much about the infergen, but I heard the sx where similar to the peg also... I was under the presumption that is what I was going to be taking this round... but that didn't happen! Let us know as you go along, I haven't stumbled across that many people on that yet!

All=
Went back to the Doc again today.... he wouldn't give me another PCR (To see if I was clearing it on my own)... Humph... guess that means the chances of that happening must be next to none... anyway.... my scripts arrive at the pharmacy tomorrow.... Same Stuff... Just Higher dosage & longer length of tx...

Soooo.... err we go again... tomorrow will be #1 of 72... YUCK

you have been holding on to that paper, in fear, for two weeks???
are you a glutton for punishment?

god have mercy!

You will be fine no matter what. We have grown in knowledge and resolve and have made some wonderful friendships, these past years

Chev....OooPPppSSss...We must of posted at the same time... cause your post wasn't there when I posted that to Honey... LoL

I meant to include honeys post in my first one... Good thing it's a little slow today!

Yea.. definitely spending time in the garden this year... got the tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, peppers, & yellow squash in the ground yesterday... going out to put in snow peas, zucchini, cucumbers, & eggplant today! Got more stuff to plant tomorrow too... buying a deep freezer this summer... Figure all this garden stuff will beneficial to my TX & frame of mind this go round!

This most definately sucks... I just hate starting at # 1 again...

I am kind of curious if I'll get the chills & stuff on that first injection again like I did last time... I am thinking since it has been 4 months, then surely all the interferon has already washed out of my system by now.... last time the brain fog started moving in around the second week... so at least I know what to expect, maybe I'll handle it better due to that...

Also, Can't help but find myself wondering if the higher doses are gonna make me have all those nasty skin reactions too that I was blessed to have avoided last time... & since my hair hasn't gotten back to normal thickness yet, I guess I'll really be thin on top this time... Shish... I wish some of these folks that have done multiple treatments would come in here & tell me the second go around will be a walk in the park.... (Yea Right) LoL

Anyway, I let y'all know on Thursday If that First injection is as intense as the original one... I am thinking NOT... I really truly believe (for some stupid reason) that this round is gonna be better!

Time will tell...

catch ya'll later... my garden is calling me!!! (got to get all my stuff in the ground before I start tx)

Secondtime,,,There is others that are on infergen here and hope they will respond to your question.  Some that I have read,,,said it doesn't seem as bad as the pegasas but then others seem to think the same or little worse.  All in all,,,probably is different depending on individuals just like the regular tx.  Have you talked to your dr about extending to 72 weeks.  That also seems to be doing the trick on getting rid of it.  Let us know what you decide to do as I will be thinking of you.

Everyone,,,Hope all is well with everyone this week! I have been gone and had a really fun vacation which was great from being a recluse the past year! haha   I love coming and reading the great news and big steps of everyone reaching SVR and all the undectables while doing the tx.  Of course its hard for all of us to read when one of us relapses after tx.  After doing tx,,,we know none of us enjoy thoughts of starting back to square 1.  That is the worse part of the whole thing.
Rev,,,,if you see this,,,I'm so sorry to read about you now having AIH.  I don't know enough about it but do know its something you don't need to add on to what you already are dealing with.  Please let us know more when you find out and how you are suppose to deal with it or can you cure that?

This morning,,,I got up and before driving to work,,,decided then,,,I needed to address the situation of my PCR.  I have had standing orders ready to go for past couple of weeks when I was ready to run by.  I have been really scared up to now on even thinking about it but this morning felt right.  I was actually calm for once,,,just thinking about it.  Whatever happens,,,I have done all I can and can't hide from it so whatever will be....will be.  All of you have been wonderful this past year,,,listening to me vent and scream,,,and laugh at crazy stuff.  Whatever you did for my husband seemed to do the trick so if you would,,,send some good vibes this way!  Thanks so much!  :)

While I have only done tx once my friend did it twice then daily infergen. She told me the sx were similar except she had more fever within 24 hours of the infergen shot. It was difficult when having shots daily but when they went to every 3 days it was better. That's all I know but others here will pipe in that have much more info. There are a few who have had good results with pepasys reversing damage to their livers. I'm sure you will hear from them soon. I wish you the best. LL
