hi everyone I finally got good news. I am Hep-c free post 6 months treatment. The
treatment was brutal but  well worth it in the end. I would lay in bed when I was so sick and meditate on my cells killing off the bad cells, and my body making new cells. Sounds crazy but it helped me. As you all know I had a hard time with my treatment. I am still dealing with some side effects of treatment. I do have memory loss, and I hate it because it messes with my spelling. I have chronic pain and have been told it is fibromalgia. Anyone else having the same issues? Oh well I am just happy its gone and I pray it stays away. I would do the treatment again to those of you who are in dought stay with it. I know its hard and I pray for all of us on this site.

I went today to the doc, he not only agreed to the test he copied all the articles I brought...apparently one of the docs on the study taught him..sweet.  Yep, got to go to Labcorp, he thought it wouldn't be an issue so I am going tomorrow am. hopefully (got a sick toddler at home).   I'll let you know how it all works out.

Spoke with BCBS yesterday.  They told me that I just need an authorization from my doctor for the test and if Quest doesnt offer it, then I can go to Labcorp.  Tomorrow is my doctors appt, wish me luck that my doctor cooperates, if he doesnt, I'm changing doctors.

Dont know you need to call BC/BS and ask-tell them that Quest does your lab work. You might have to jump through some hoops.I had some labs done through Quest and had a time getting BC/BS to pay for them-but finally did.I dont know that Quest does this test-But if  Quest doesnt and Labcorp does then they  should pay for it.Just call them tomorrow-let me know your outcome cindy

Ive had Quest do labwork too.At first BCBS wouldnt pay .Then they did.You might want to give BCBS a call because different  policies cover different things. You need the test# which is  test #480630.they might ask for CPT codes.Lab Corp lists 4 of them so I gave he all of them that were on the LabCorp service Announcement. They are 83891,83898,
83896x2 and 83912.. It has to be one of them.Maybe someone here will actually know which CPT code it is..Good Luck cindy

Good News....I have BCBS in the form of Keystone.  But I have to go to Quest.  I hope they will let me go to Labcorp for this test.  I can't imagine why insurances wouldn't have caught on to the potential cost savings for them "experimental" or not.

Back in Aug. '10 I received the results from my docs office in about 7 days.  Much to my surprise I also received a letter from LabCorp about 2-3 weeks later.  BCBS covered the test back then, and I believe that they'd just given approval for it.

Heh, holidays got me. I called them back, and this time got a knowledgable rep on the phone. Bottom line is, my results wont be ready till Friday at the earliest, and probably not until next week.

With the holidays, apparently LabCorp is taking some time off. She told me the central labs accepted only STAT orders for a few days before the Christmas holidays. The other orders were held at drawing sites.

How much of that is true, I have no idea. Whatever, it's not information I have to get immediately. It will never change, and I have another 2.5 weeks till my next VL test.

So, yes, a week, give or take a week.

Should be any day now. They said one week, and that was today. As of lunchtime PST, they are not ready.

Glad to hear they are covering it for ya.
